Well you know me. I never accept anything without question (especially about films since I'm in the business). So I went out asking my questions... especially since this link is from a public relations firm and was probably posted by the public relations firm. My favorite place to get the skinny on films is rottentomatoes.com. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/what_the__do_we_know/?critic=creamcrop Oh dear. This picture only got an overall rating of 35%... or ROTTEN. I linked to the cream of the crop reviews because at least it got a 41% there. I wonder how many of these reviews, whether positive or negative, were focused on production value, i.e. filmmaking and how many were focused on the subject matter.

Love,

Val

I saw it last year when it came out - I'd agree it's worth checking out. I wouldn't say it was life altering: I didn't find myself buying in to the views/philosophies presented, but it was still both interesting and fun. Maybe "life-affirming" would describe it well.

The part I remember most vividly is the scene where they showed the effect of thought/emotion on water molecules. That was impressive. The water which was "sent" thoughts of hate and anger was all murky-grey and ugly, incoherent patterns. The water which was sent thoughts of peace and kindliness formed beautiful symetrical crystal-like patterns (all under high powered microscope of course).
Our own thoughts and emotions have a similar effect on our body chemistry...was the message.

..especially when WE are over 60% water... gets into the whole communications-by-resonance thing.

the film is inexpensively made, but the subject matter, and those interviewed, are well worth the experience. especially for people interested in yi and other such spiritual and metaphysical, and physics kinds of subjects. look past the filmaker and into the subject matter.

The film's description of 'neuronets' seemed especially relevant to I Ching, in that each hex. can be considered as a condition which relates by association(s) to any and all other conditions. The network-like dynamics of I Ching seem to make it a very apropos model, mirroring how our minds organize and manipulate information.
