I am 63 and in a difficult life situation. Very little money, irresponsible partner, old properties that need maintenance and what look like some very poor decisions in the past. I am now looking for work to at least make up the financial side of it, but also fear the jobs currently on offer are not the right ones, as would involve me going very far away and leaving partner behind for 8 months. In the meantime, I am experiencing extreme stress verging on depression. I had hoped the reading would put me at peace but it has not.

Previous readings have told me to wait for the right time, but I am afraid if I wait any longer I will have nothing at all. Is there any other way to take this reading except hiding away for the time being? it does not seem a good option.

Hi

Sorry for the way you are feeling, I think 36 Unchanged although it maybe hard, maybe try and network locally, using your charisma or your inner light to the right people, as you mentioned you are 63 so you do have knowledge. As from your post you feel dark and mentioning your age it concerns you, as i can well imagine if it were me. You need to dig deep and offer something that someone needs possibly. I am sure you have something but because of your current train of thought it seems impossible, however light can shine into the darkness as you well know. Its obviously a cross roads so you need to dig deep my friend and find out what you have learnt and what you can offer. It appears there is something. At least you are smart enough to think before the walls actually fall as they havent yet.

My thoughts are more like a service not so much an invention or it could an already successful product.

You maybe surprised that you have service locally you can offer, anyway 60 is the new 50 , wisdom is true power,

Liu: The sun sinking under the earth symbolizes the Darkening of the Light. In approaching the people the superior man veils his brightness, yet still has glory.

PS I am always stressing about money, you need to be calm and think of way to improve the situation

Thanks, Steve.

I am a university prep teacher and have been travelling most of my professional life. I have excellent references, but age and the increased demand for higher degrees/certs have limited my options. I could work at home online, but the pay is low and I do not enjoy it- I like face to face interaction with students and colleagues. I now have an offer in China- not a great one, but something. I have just been wondering whether to take it or hang on and hope for a better offer. That's why hiding my light seems a bit confusing.

What to do about crippling fears... of future.. 36 no change

Hi,
Your question was specifically about what to do about the fears.
(as opposed to a question about a certain work opportunity, or general advice)

I think that 36's judgement of 'warranting difficult persistence' is an acknowledgement that the situation really is difficult. When you accept that 'yes, this is difficult and anyone going through it would be feeling the same fears, then the fears have less power over you, they become merely part of the 'landscape' you are passing through, or better yet: energy that can be harnessed to movement instead of paralysis. (like in 51.3)

What to do with the fears....
hide them. don't broadcast them.
Put on your 'game face', show your confident and competant self to the world and to your self.

Thank you. Yes, anyone would feel the same and I should stop obsessing on the outcome when there is no clear option right now. It's tough not to be able to talk this through or get specific directions, but agreed best not to show fears to myself or others.

You can certainly talk this through with your confidants, I did not mean to imply that. I think you can ask Yi for directional advice also

Did you ask Yi about the job in China?

Thats a good point the question was what to do about the fears, now that you know what to do then ask which way forward, i would, you need to be on the best path for you.

Just a note on 36 Unchanging I was looking at it as you have light inside so try to bring that out and shine, where I like the thought of positive harnessed energy that you save for yourself that still works for you.
Its nice to refine my skills cheers Moss Elk

I did, several times, and got the same basic answer: the job would do me no harm, but no real good either. It is not high status, not well paid, and the only real advantage to it is the experience. Meanwhile, as I took advice and waited, another offer has arisen - in a dangerous part of the world, but much more professional. I am waiting that one out, too.

I have accepted the job in Iraq. Readings about this have been fraught with warnings- not about my personal safety (it is a safe area) but more about unknown aspects of the job. It is a new school and bound to be chaotic- I am prepared for this. Now I get this: 48.3 to 29. The Well, with line 3 saying the well is purified but no one comes to drink from it, which is sad and basically the King's fault. This makes sense to me, in that local admin could be completely clueless, even though there is something to offer (the area is full of IDPs and refugee camps).

29 is Repeated Chasms. I realize this is a dangerous undertaking and just hope I can do some good with it.

I don't think that 48.3 is about a stupid leader. Think of 'enlightened' as in,
"My friend enlightened me on the merits of his gardening techniques" Making the leader aware of your qualities.
Letting someone who is capable of putting you to good use, do so. I got this same line two years ago as general advice on looking for work. You have to let someone know of your value.

Thanks, food for thought. Show them my well is pure and they may drink from it. Perhaps this alarmed me more than it should have- maybe the conclusion is just about being put to the test.

I think it is similar to the original advice (similar) thats what i was getting that you have knowledge and gifts. 29 to me usually is a big challenge, like you say a test, so be prepared for that.
Yes be safe, I would imagine it would be quite an experience.
