@rosada
By all means, please move this thread if that is regarded as more desirable for managing the forum . I'm not familiar with all the sections within Clarity, and generally post in OpenSpace to be sure of not breaking any rules .

@Freeda
I've been feeling quite dismayed and dispirited to see how easily and how quickly the whole world has gone pear-shaped just because a frequent and regular pest of humanity has grown some extra spikes or horns .

Looking for inspiration and solace, I've put this question to the Yi . The resulting response as shown above was obtained with the help of some software I personally coded over the years . As previously mentioned in this forum, the hexagram interpretation contained in my software has been derived from various translations (published in English and Vietnamese), distilled and arranged in a concise and digitally presentable form .

My thoughts on the Yi's response are fairly mixed . Hexagram 26 more or less confirms that the current global situation has great impact, contains many vast implications and consequences. It admonishes one to make preparation, not just physically but also mentally and spiritually . It even highlights the importance of community effort . It presents a very relevant and timely reminder of the practical steps I need to focus on instead of just moping about global events .

Next is hexagram 7. Here the Yi spells it out further: the world is a battlefield where the leaders play a crucial role in determining the outcomes . (I cannot hold back a sinking feeling when taking a look at our current crop of world leaders) .

Hexagram 54 is a subtle reminder that we , the ordinary people, are hostages in a war, restricted and constrained in many ways . Every bit of our wit will be required for survival as we seek the way out of this mine field .

My Yi-King software can be download from here, if you are interested.

EKING-en v3.4 zip file

It's freely offered .

I don't think covid19 is a 'frequent and regular pest', it's new.

Who do you think the 'we' is ? I've seen a whole lot of pretty good reasoning, not perfect but I do see so many people rising to the occasion most admirably.

Have you seen the astounding hospital that's been built more or less overnight in London ?
Have you seen the emergency beds made available for the increasing number who will need ventilators ?
Have you seen the manufacturers who switch from their own business of making vacuum cleaners to making ventilators ?
Have you seen the thousands of volunteers stepping forward to feed and nurse the vulnerable ?
Have you seen the governments introducing swift new rules to contain the virus ?
Have you seen the government making emergency payments to employees and business so that the economy doesn't entirely collapse ?

In all this very good reasoning was used to save as many lives as possible so what does your statement actually mean ? Without employing reasoning most effectively we won't even get through this.

In saying 'someone shouted virus and we dropped all the reasoning we had' ' you seem almost to imply this is all over reaction. But without the very best of human reasoning applied, and I do think the Nightingale Hospital in London is the most incredible achievement, I don't know where we'd actually be.

In what sense, in what ways do you think 'we dropped all the reasoning we had' ? I haven't seen that except perhaps in people overstocking on food but to some degree that was understandable as we had to be ready to self isolate. Even then, with reason employed, supermarkets did start to ration.

Reason sadly failed in UK in not supplying enough protective equipment for medical staff and not testing enough, which granted are fairly fundamental things but still I don't think one can say 'we all dropped the reasoning we had' without really explaining in what way you think we dropped all reasoning ?
