Hey!

I just found this site and joined this forum... love it! I wanted to ask you for help just to understand what I received.

My question was: what type of relationship does he want to have with me? and I received 48.3.5 / 7.

I used the online reading from this site (do you think it would be better to throw the real coins or online readings like this one as valid as throwing the coins?

Thank for your response!

Hi milla,

It sounds as if he's not as clear-minded as you are, and cannot really see
and recognise your good qualities, and that there are going to be power
struggles between you two.

Thank you, Willowfox and Diamanda for your responses. They are very different though. Willowfox's response sis positive on what the relationship he wants while Diamanda's talks about problems. I'm trying to understand why the responses are so different. Would it be possible for you to explain? Thank you!

48:3 says, "The well has been cleaned, but no one drinks from it". It also
says "if the king could see that", then everyone involved would be happy
and would drink, but the 'king' at this point does not see that, and that
brings "sorrow".
48:5 is a good omen, the water is there, it is clear and pure, ie, no
matter if the king sees that or not, that does not affect the quality of
"the water".
7 could go both ways in relationship questions, but in my own experience
7 usually means 'who is in charge of the relationship'. If the other lines
are good, then the man will make proper use of 7, and with strength and
responsibility will take up the leading position in the good sense, and bring
about what willowfox said, firmness, stability, and reliability.

But because of the initial 48:3, he does not seem to have such sound
qualities, and that's where the if comes from, in that line. With such
unstable and unclear people, it's hard to tell where the situation will go,
and also hard to tell if they'll later take up an 'honourable' stance, or
turn the whole thing into a power struggle of who's got the upper hand.
7 also speaks of great amounts of water amassing under the earth. It
could well be that you will revolt eventually for not being recognised, or
that he will gather up his strength and apply discipline. Hard to tell
which way it will go.

Thank you, Diamanda for your clarification. Before I made this question I asked "do we have a future together?" and I received 46.1 / 11. I took this oracle as a clear "yes" but not only that, but also as very auspicios as well. Then I asked "what type of relationship he wanted" to understand the environment where our relationship would develop based on his perspective. I see your answer as to how our relationship will develop or is developing rahter than how he wants to relate. Am I confusing the way that the I Ching responds our questions?

Well, your answer to hex 46.1 > 11 sure does look nice.

In your first question, the answer lies with hex 7 for what he wants, and that is stability, permanence, order and you all working together to achieve something solid, something strong and durable.

Thank you, Willofox! To understand the response completely, could 48.3 and 48.5 say that he wants to help to develop the full potential of this relationship, or that he sees that possibilities are available and real, and in order to not waste them he wants to act with determination? Am I reading this properly?

I don't know if this is an incorrect way to reply to a thread (if so I'll delete) but I once received this same hex when asking about a past relationship. The description you gave is so accurate to that situation. I was the "king" in that scenario, the one who did not have good vision of the situation. It did not work out in the end, although many productive things did happen while we were together, and the break up wasn't positive. This interpretation fits perfectly to that situation. (This was years ago so obviously it took time for me to have better perspective)
