Hi,

Would really like some advice/ insight on which job offer sounds more favourable.

Option A) For me personally, would be the most challenging role, the one I was last interested in but response from Yi = 36 Brightness Hidden/ Wounded,

changing line 3 - Legge "The third line, undivided, shows its subject, in the condition indicated by Ming I, hunting in the south, and taking the great chief of the darkness. He should not be eager to make all correct at once".

To 24 Returning.

With Option A, sounds like I could make a big difference to the clients in this workplace - bringing them out of a place of darkness, but not an overnight success, something which requires a long term investment of time and persistence which this workplace would definitely need from all its workers.

Option B) The least challenging role, that had potential in my heart/mind to make me feel happy - home based and mostly self directed.
Yi's response: 7.2.4 to 16 - Hilary's translation

Line 2
'Positioned in the centre of the army.
Good fortune, no mistake.
The king issues a mandate three times.'

Line 4
'The army camps on the left – no mistake.'

Sounds promising right...like the easiest option for success perhaps?

Option C) The one I was most interested in, potential to travel, but more casual than the others. Result 22.1.2.3 to 4. Beauty to Not Knowing?

Hilary's translations:

Line 1
'Making your feet beautiful.
Putting away the carriage and going on foot.'

Line 2
'Making your hair beautiful.'

Line 3
'Beautiful, as if dipped in water.
Ever-flowing constancy, good fortune.'

For me this also sounds promising, hex 4 sounds like it has a more unknown outcome quality.

Lines 1 and 2 seem strange to me, but suggest a job that I would look, feel good in. There is some status that comes with this position in the community.

Thank you all in advance for your help. :)

Hi again,

No responses yet which is all good. I asked a follow up question 'Which career choice is most suitable for next year'. I received hexagram 19. 2 to 24.

Nearing to Returning, which for me suggests that Option B - the self employed home based job would be the best option.

Anyone else agree with that assessment?

Option A 36.3 > 24

There's definitely a problem in that workplace, which you don't know about yet. But once you find it and sort it out, slowly, it then sounds very promising in the long run.

Option B 7.2.4 > 16
It sounds like going great initially, but you may lose motivation on the way. 16 as outcome doesn't sound good professionally.

Option C 22.1.2.3 > 4
This one relies heavily on social graces and beauty, and as you said the outcome is unknown.

Which career choice is most suitable for next year, 19. 2 > 24
Something you do in close conjunction with others, so not the home-based job. If these were my only choices I would go for option A. Especially since both option A and your last question both result in 24.

Option 1) 36.4 - 24 does sound to me as you have interpreted it - being able to be a real help to clients and 24. Returning them to their path. otoh I could see this reading as saying you take this job and discover there are difficulties about the work that you hadn't seen before and so you don't stay but Return to your original path.

Option 2) 7.2 would certainly describe the feeling of being self-employed. 7.4 however can indicate having to go along with someone else's authority, though the line specifically says this is not a mistake. I see 16 as indicating being a part of a large organization. Perhaps you start out on your own but then you get hired by a competitor?

Option 3)I read 4. Youthful folly as describing a situation where one can only learn by doing. So 22 - 4 sounds like you have a vision about what this work could be but you can't really know until you actually get into it. Kinda like I could describe what music is but you wouldn't really know until you hear it.

Not sure what this adds up to but just thought I'd add m2c!

Option A) Working in a juvenile detention facility

Option B) Early Childhood from home, within a larger organisation that processes the payments, provides the resources.

Option C) Tracking, transporting and mentoring at risk youth.

Thank you Diamanda and Rosada for your interpretations/insight.

Does knowing what the roles are now, provide any additional thoughts or ideas?

Wow, those hexagrams certainly seem to describe the jobs. Especially 22 - 4, sounds like you have to give these kids a vision of what they could be and then help them become it. Anyway, I myself don't see any of these answers saying which job is preferable. Maybe rather than asking for each one you could get a clearer answer asking "Describe the best job for me from these three" - now that we understand them a bit better perhaps the right one will then jump out.

Option C manager told me to accept Option A as both jobs are in the same organisation - but A has more set hours, and B said she would keep me on her books as they are always hiring.. both offers were/are conditional on background check which I will 100% clear.

As for Option B - putting it to the side as majority of my friends have advised me to go for A :)
