After having eaten relatively healthy for months, in the last day or two I've had a sudden recurrence of a strong urge for dessert...

Might be connected to someone I like leaving recently for a while... might be connected to restlessness concerning my creative work. Or it might be something else entirely. I'm just not sure.

What is the message behind this seeming desire for sugar?
41 Compensating Sacrifice, unchanging.
“Compensating Sacrifice means that sincerely maintained rectitude brings great success. Action is appropriate if one's sacrifice is sincere -- even two baskets of grain, though there be nothing else, may be offered.”
Image: "The image of a mountain and beneath it the waters of a marsh form Compensating Sacrifice. The superior man, in accordance with this, restrains his wrath and represses his desires."

I'm not sure quite what this means in terms of why this desire has re-arisen strongly now, though it seems like the reading is saying that perhaps this is a time when my psychic resources are lower, but if I can maintain discipline during this time, great rewards await me?

Other thoughts?

As someone with a problematic sweet tooth I just wanted to give my two cents until someone else comes along, could compensating sacrifice mean compensating sugar? Eating healthy requires sacrificing treats. If managing ones mood means reaching for treats then maybe they could be compensated for healthy ones?

Yes, I actually think this is a really good interpretation. I think I figured out that my body was craving more food generally -- more nutritious food, actually, but which I just interpreted as a sweet tooth. But once I started eating more healthy food, the sweet tooth toned down. I'm training harder and exercising more in recent times, and I think my body is just demanding more nutrition, and it gets channeled to desserts out of habit...

I find that when I eat healthy, with lots of vegetables, I don't actually need any sweet.

As to 41, could it be diet? Like, you are dieting, decreasing food, so the body asks for more?
