Can anyone shed some light on this reading for me?
After 3 long term relationships that have all ended after 3-5 years, I have come to the conclusion that I may not find the right person for me in this lifetime !

I would also like to know if the resulting Hex 16 have any real significance in this reading?

The Changing Lines are :

Line 2

‘Cannot master this argument,
Return home, escape to your town’s people,
Three hundred households.
No blunder.’

Is this saying - your on your own love !?

Line 5

‘Arguing: good fortune from the source.’

Line 6

‘Maybe awarded a grand leather belt.
By the end of the day, stripped of it three times.’

Is this saying that I may have another relationship and it will end again ?

Any advice insight gratefully received :bows:

The conflict is not resolved. He returns home.
His kin, three hundred households, are free of blame.

Resolving a conflict of ideas is not the only way of dealing with it, although when we are in conflict it may seem so.
We can simply return to our observing centre and cease to project any idea on what we experience.
Kin are those who are related, and within our personal self the related parts which were in conflict do not blame each other, instead they change their way entirely (symbolized by the number 3 for change and hundred for the entirety).

Step back and look inside yourself, the problem (the outdated rules and restrictions and stereotypes are there).

Widely aware of the battle, then good fortune comes.

In this tao our feeling is closed to the "other", so conflict arises;
There can only be conflict when views are narrow, when they are wide they overlap.

Try to understand why your relationships don't last, be objective about it, look at yourself from outside.
Or/and like Wilhelm writes:
This refers to an arbiter in a conflict who is powerful and just, and strong
enough to lend weight to the right side. A dispute can be turned over to him
with confidence.

Consult with a specialist (match-maker).

The active life energy emerging into this Tao becomes conflict due to lack of insight.
Here we accept this as the Tao, as our way of inner being, but conflict as a way of being resolves nothing and pushes identity further into its identifying isolation.
In a wide sense we lose when in conflict whether we win or lose the contest.

You can't win until you understand what the problem is.

h16 is called Repose - take a break. End this cycle, relax and then when you feel refreshed, renewed start again.

I love ashteroid's interpretation - and here is another point of view for you to consider amyjohanna.

The conflict (6) is an illusion (16).

So, either you believe you just can't find a good man in this lifetime (you are opposed, 6), but that is an illusion.

Or, if you're having too many arguments with boyfriends, take a good look at your deeper self - they are unnecessary, you'll need to find a way to stop them because you can't win that way.

In both cases, you are not opposed by fate. So review your situation and be confident that (with some corrections?) you will find someone good.

Ooh an Illusion, never saw that name for h16, thanks diamanda.

The transitional method also gives something interesting to ponder on:
6.2 Conflict → 12.5 Standstill → 35.6 Progress → 16 Repose, Enthusiasm
Wilhelm:
One cannot engage in conflict; One returns home, gives way.

Standstill is giving way. Good fortune for the great man.

Making progress with the horns is permissible only for the purpose of punishing one's own city.

Go home (center), wait and observe, locate the broken parts inside or tune those strings until they produce harmony, then go again when the life gives you a chance.

Thank you Ashteroid & Diamanda your interpretations make sense :)
I will definitely be taking a break to reflect on things.
I've been told by a few close people ( my mother and a close friend ) that I am not 'discriminating ' enough when it comes to relationships - I never really understood what this really meant until recently but am starting to think that I don't think things through very much in the 'beginning ' stages of a relationship; I have long term relationships with the first people I meet maybe ! so Ashteroid you could be right that to 'Consult with a specialist (match-maker)' is something to consider ! :bows:
