Hexagram 17, Following

Energy flows strongly into life's landscapes, bringing a great creative drive, from the source through towards fulfilment. Following it means a willingness to honour the flow and align actions with it. You can know your ideal, and then allow it to meld with the natural current, following signs and nudges and allowing them to draw you onward.

Then, you may experience Following as an effortless flow of supportive synchronicities – or you may experience it as events unfolding in accordance with their own schedule, and failing to keep to yours. It can seem as if simply allowing yourself to be guided by the current is not enough, and you ought to be 'doing something'. But moving with the creative process is not a mistake.

Line 2 ~ Stay on the level path,
Line 6 ~ Reviewing your progress for auspicious signs as you go

...and, if you do, then you will be following the Way to great good fortune.

I read ‘the level path’ in line 2 as the choice you make when confronted with the Tiger of your emotions ~ particularly desire and fear. If you try to run away from, or make the attempt to cage, the Tiger ~ then you will get eaten.

However, if you remain present to the strong (steep) feelings ~ seeing them for what they are from the meditative witness position ~ and not getting absorbed in them ~ then you will pass through easily on the level road…

…and, as you progress down the road of 2018, you will be able to ‘look back’ and see auspicious signs that confirm to you that you are Following the right path, the level path.

So, for instance, along the way, you could find yourself tempted to test your sexuality as a single Tigress ~ one last time ~ before becoming a Mom. This would be an example of confronting the Tiger on the level path ~ the steep way is to choose either entanglement or flight…

…but the Yi is saying to keep your eyes on the goal ~ baby ~ beyond the temptations ~ and look back regularly for signs that you are staying on the level path.

When you see that your footsteps have brought you full circle ~ on the level path ~ then you will have found the Way...and very possibly a baby, too.

Will I have a baby this year? 10.2.6 > 17

It depends on if you have a specific man as a father in mind or not.

10.2 shows a person alone, this brings good fortune.
10.6 shows concluding the steps.
And 17 is following (as in, the following year, or taking even more steps).

So either a) it's not to your benefit to aim for a baby this year - try the following year,
or b) first you must pursue a solitary man, take many steps towards him and keep going after him.
(or both a and b, and 17 - take it from there)
