I cast two questions regarding the American Elections in two weeks.

Will Republicans keep their majority in the house?
41.4.6 > 54
41.4 The subject of this line receives joy, as other lines rush in to help him.
41.6 mean increase, not reduction.

I interpret this to mean Republicans will increase their majority in the House.

Will Republicans keep their majority in the senate?
1 unchanging.
Wilhelm - The Creative works sublime success, furthering through perseverance.
Here you have six dragons. The superior man works tirelessly for the will of heaven.

I interpret this to mean Republicans - the subject of my question - will successfully hold the Senate, and perhaps even increase their numbers.

Comments (on the readings - please.)

The yi is not always so good for answering yes / no questions however here is one take on the divinations.

Will Republicans keep their majority in the house?

41.4.6 > 54
41: The majority will be less, the hold will be less and this will herald a new perspective on how to conduct matters
line 4 - how things are working now are not helpful. New messages are needed.
line 6 - the way forward has to win the hearts and the minds
54: A radical change of perspective will be forthcoming.

Will Republicans keep their majority in the senate?
1 unchanging.
Learning from the old will be the key for the next period of change.

I have similar thread going, I asked just about the house as my thoughts are they will keep the senate, many on the left think this as well (not all) however the house is predicted to be close also due to the number of people in the house there are so many variables. My answer was 40.6>64
https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/fri...ill-the-republicans-keep-the-house-40-6-gt-64

41.6 looks encouraging for the right, 41.4 to me that some of the rights short comings, or possibly even trumps wont stop the support,

How do you get "it's not working needs a new message" from 41.4?
The line describes a decrease in troubles leading to joy.
Confucius/Legge: This is a matter for joy. Wilhelm/Baynes: It is indeed something that gives cause for joy. And Legge describes a person whose ailment has made work impossible, but the strong first line hurries to his aid bringing happiness.
It sounds more like it's saying a decrease in troubles for Republicans - e.g. less political opposition.

And how do you get 41.6 says a need to win hearts and minds?
Wilhelm/Baynes: [Through perseverance and zealous work a man wins success and finds helpers as they are needed. But what he accomplishes is not a limited private advantage; it is a public good and available to everyone… There are loyal helpers, but not for promoting family interests.]
This line describes an expansion of public service, that is not for personal gain.

Sounds like Democrats are more than a little eclipsed in the House.

And as for the holding the Senate - Hex 1 unchanging - where do you get "Learning from the old will be the key for the next period of change?"
Hex 1 The Creative is not one of the Hexes I understand best, but it does describe a great deal of ceaseless creative power. And the only way Republicans get great sustained creative power in the Senate is a large increase in numbers because you need a supermajority to even vote on legislation.

Hi LL
Individual readings are just that - individual to each person and anything I offer as an interpretation is by no means sealed in stone or in any may meant to be the only interpretation. To assist you here I'll take a stab at expanding on aspects of my interpretation.

For the first part my main reference was Karcher and not Wilhelm /Baynes or Legge

Hex 41- Embodies an atmosphere of transformation inviting a sacrifice perhaps through seeing the patterns of the way things are to provide opportunity for growth towards higher values/goals.

How do you get "it's not working needs a new message" from 41.4?
At line 4 there is a position perspective on beliefs and finding the right road. My sense from K - The affliction needs to be diminished and quickly in order to lead to the rejoicing.

And how do you get 41.6 says a need to win hearts and minds?
At line 6 there is a position perspective on higher values and next steps for moving beyond a situation. This is the line that is balanced at the mid - point of decrease to increase. K-"you acquire servants, not dwellings" so to do this one viewpoint might be to win hearts and minds.

And as for the holding the Senate - Hex 1 unchanging - where do you get "Learning from the old will be the key for the next period of change?"

Hex 1 - a primal power: one with power to guide and inspire and also a keeper of our
roots / old ways. Misuse of this primal power can lead down destructive paths.

The creative tension is unchanging here, the spark of yang held in the midst of yin.
Remembering where we have come from is an important element in ensuring the creative spark goes off in the right direction.

Hope this fleshes out how I arrived at the comments I posted.

Good Luck
