I don't think quite frankly that any of these answers in this thread or any other on the topic predicted anything. For a start how many times was the same question asked by different people on several threads ? They all of course got individual answers as they will if a whole bunch of people now ask this

Party pooper.

I was just teasing you on your admonishment for folks casting on the big themes....You might be right, you might be wrong. But folks will always cast on the big themes and compare - human nature isn't it?

Well, personally I am in favour of asking the Yi most questions (within limits of ethics and decency). Big themes should actually fit perfectly into I Ching historical background. But yes, sorry Yi, I have gone overboard during the Referendum :D

Forum gremlins I think.

1. The quote you responded to isn't the one that is now there. I understand the 'party pooper' comment in response to that quote but originally it was another quote of mine.

I agree, point taken, guilty as charged, terrible party pooper. I'll shut up. Sure folks will ask about the big themes but my point was regarding the sheer number of casts on the topic here that makes it impossible IMO for anyone to say there has been a prediction. Like if you cast 20 casts on one issue of go/stay one of them is going to fit with what happens. That's not intended as party pooping that's just logic. I don't think we can get too loose about predictions because I can tell you any one who thinks Yi is nonsense is going to say this. They'd say "well you all cast 30 times on 'in or out' of course you will find one reading that seems to tally".

See post 60....you answered me under my name. How did that happen. If you start posting as me you are going to get identity confusion and will get branded a party pooper. You are the hare, I am the woman in the chariot. I know we are all one and everything but for now I think we need to know you are you and I am me.

Well, loose hares will hitch rides in party pooping chariots once in a while...It's a cosmic law. (Thankfully not under an EU directive).

Before I went to bed I received 12.5>35 on whether Britain would leave the EU.

A divorce. Leading to a careful, step by step extrication from stagnation? But I still didn't think it would come to pass.

Siu: The man brings order and progress to the situation. He exhibits cool-headedness and caution during the transition and maintains contingency plans in readiness.

Wing: A sweeping change for the better is indicated. Things can improve and progress. Yet this is the very time to feel cautious and reserved. With such an attitude your success is doubly insured and a strong foundation is established for the new times.
(Jim De Korne's website)

So, the cautionary note is clear: this isn't a done deal by any means. Despite this being seen as a democratic referendum, it's an advisory proposal rather than a mandatory one and it still has to go through Parliament to be passed. There is a possibility that Conservative and Labour remain MPs will band together to oppose it.

Secondly, Cameron has to invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty to effectively ratify it over the next 3 months. And even then, there'll be another two years of formal political hopscotch.

It's going to be a long road.

Re the comments about repeatedly asking the same question..
Although many posters asked a similar question I don't think that violates the hex 4. Only Ask Once rule, because each person was only asking for themselves. Now if that person asked the same or very similar question a second time that muddies the water but otherwise I think we're all just sharing our own experiences here. Perhaps the problem is trying to blend all the different responses rather than just accepting each toss as an individual point of view.

I'm feeling mad at myself at the moment - or at least confused - because my original answer was 39uc. which at the time I got it my first reaction was I thought it meant the vote would be to leave, BUT I DIDN'T TRUST MY INTERPRETATION, so I asked again and got a response which seemed to point to voting to stay. Hmm.. think I'm going to ask the I Ching, "How can one develop trust in one's inner knowingness?"

Just to add to what Rosada said, I distinctively thought that my first reading yesterday was saying Leave, but I didn't trust my interpretation. That is what happens when there is either too involvement or haste or both.

However, that does not invalidate the reading itself. Throughout the Referendum campaign I kept my readings to a minimum and they were all meaningful, regardless of my limitations to make best use of them.

I disagree that the I Ching did not predict the result. I think it did. If yesterday I had stuck to my guns and put what I thought on this thread today you would have had that in print.

I don't think that anything is predetermined, humans have free choice :bows:. At best the Yi or other tools can give us an indication of how things are likely to turn out, given the current circumstances, and if we stay on the same path. I don't think either that Yi passes judgment on whether the outcome is good or bad, it's up to us to decide if we like that picture or not.

So perhaps it can predict the result of an election when the sentiment is heavily weighted to a certain outcome, or once the majority of votes have been cast, but not when it's a very close call? But it still gives us context, issues to ponder...

Many of the IC hexes and lines relate to the management of affairs of State, the wisdom of going to war, conquering lands or protecting the kingdom, how to eradicate corruption, how to deal with vassals and revolt, when to move forward and when to retreat and consolidate etc... I have found it useful in forming political opinions...
