Hi,
I asked the I Ching - will we become a couple and received hexagram 32 unchanging (Lasting)

I believe this to be positive but, would welcome any comments

According to R.L. Wing, who has written on the unchanging form of the hexagrams, hex 32 unchanging signifies a need to develop continuity within the self. In other words, before we can become a good couple, we need to learn how not to vacillate at every turn in our emotional lives.

The various names for this Hexagram are - Long Lasting, Permanence, Consistency, Persevering etc. etc.

You got a straight forward answer from the Yi...its as simple as that. That too as an unchanging Hexagram - which in itself is pretty emphatic. Why do you want to complicate things.

A Hexagram can have different meanings in different contexts. In a 'personal' context this Hexagram generally means what has been stated above - to either have or to develop a 'routine' so to say. Internal or external - mental or physical - of the psyche or circumstantial.

You queried about your relationship - I think you received a pretty direct response. That it would be permanent, long lasting. You will be a couple. Don't complicate it.

I also tend to think this is a straightforward response, along the lines of "Continue!" or "Persevere!" However, a lot of the details are missing, such as whether or not you are dating each other at the present time . . . Under ordinary circumstances, the answer would be straightforward and without complications.

Looks like I will be the only one raining on the parade here, but unless the querent is already in a relationship, everything will stay the same (32). If there was an established relationship, then the relationship would endure (32).

An established relationship is a relationship which is established. That is a relationship that exists and that is acknowledged by both parties as existing and is on going. This occurs over a period of time.

The question actually made me wonder how and why someone would ask it.

The response was very matter of fact, not bitter.
Perhaps to a question that shouldn't have been responded to at all. It is one of the hazards of online post communications, you can't see the facial expressions or hear the tones of either party.

It is easy to read what is not there.
