I recently received a short e-mail from an old friend whom I have not had any contact with for quite some time. After the e-mail I started wondering about him and how he was doing. I became a little curious about whether we will ever meet up again ( he has moved to another state).
I consulted the Tao and got Hexagram 19.6.

Wilhelm: APPROACH has supreme success.
Perseverance furthers.
When the eighth month comes,
There will be misfortune.

Six at the top means:
Great hearted approach.
Good-hearted approach.
Good fortune. No blame.

It seems to say that we will meet again. But I am not clear on whether this mean I will approach him or he will approach me.

Has anyone had any experience with 19.6?
Thanks for any help:)

The judgment is inauspicious, the line auspicious, and because it is the top line it is the end of Approach and not auspicious for a meeting if one is considering just this hexagram name. Bradford translates this line as

Authentic commitment
Promising
Nothing wrong

And the hexagram name as Taking Charge. Couldn't you take the initiative by asking your friend by email how he is doing? Conversation might lead to a future meeting. The resulting hexagram 41 says,

One may be persevering in this.
It furthers one to undertake something.

Apparently a meeting will be contingent on your action.
