Hi,

I need help with these readings.

I ask the I-ching "Will X come back to me?"
and i received 2.1 changing to 24.
I cant really find direct links explaining 2.1 to 24, so will really appreciate you guys helping me out.

I also ask the i-ching, "How can i win X over to my side"
And again i got hexagram 24 (unchanging)

Will appreciate your intake on these readings. What's the i-ching trying to say?

Thank you in advance :)

You didn't say that you are desperate to have this person back, but I assume you may be. In any case, it doesn't look very likely they wil return according to the 2.1 reading. The time for that to have happened appears to have gone by and the line says that "hoarfrost approaches" which would indicate that lines of communication are freezing up or frozen. I'd look at hexagram 24 unchanging as an indication that you are on your own, and will remain that way in relation to this other person. Sorry to be rather blunt with this, but it does seem that the Yi has been clear in the situation and at least there is an unmistakeable answer here -- at least from what I can see.

Hi Honey1989,

My take on this is that 24 is clearly where you stand in the picture. You would like X to return.

2.1 is saying to be receptive to the situation, not forcing a return or manipulating various parts of the situation yourself. Let him make the moves and you be open to them. Line 1 in particular says- ‘Treading on frost. Hard ice in the end.’ This is a picture of something that is not solid but soon will be. There is only a small window of time until it is hardened. Two things here, one is that you cannot change something on a large scale with the small amount of time there is. You can only change little things, tweek them, to make the situation more to your liking before things solidify. The other thing is that this solidity can be looked at as stability in the situation. There is a chance he will return, a small window, if you are receptive to this window and do not try and mold things yourself. I hope things work out for you.

Take care,
AQ

I see this as the same question as the other in a way. In the first question 'Will X come back to me?', it is a yes or no question technically, but the Yi gives you advice anyways on what you should do with your intent. When you asked again, 'How can i win X over to my side?' it is essentually the same question. Asking advice on what Yi sees about him returning. So I think Yi threw that back at you like it has a tendency to do and it's tendency is usually to give you an Unchanging Hexagram in this situation. I would read the second 24 as simply the Yi saying, yes I know you are wondering about the Return (24) of X.

Thank you both for your interpretations. You'r both right i guess.

The line of communication is freezing up as i'v been doing the 'NO contact rule' with him. And i'v left things to flow naturally without any input from my side, though his friends and family has been trying to get us back on a good page. But i just wasn't having it.

So going with both interpretations, I asked the i-ching 3 questions....

1) What is X's position towards me?
Hex 30.1.2.3 to 64
2) How can i tweak this situation more to my own liking?
Hex 51.6 to 21
3) What if i try to improve the communication between myself and X?
Hex 64 unchanging

Its like all the readings are saying different things. Or maybe its just me not knowing how to interpret the i-ching just yet. But i cant really see any positiveness in the reading, maybe apart from the 1st question. I really don't know.

Can you please help me generalize the whole reading together, just to know which path to follow.

Thank you

Hi Honey1989,

Before going further with the next readings I thought I should tell you my interpretation, which is still new so bare with me :). I feel like the underlined is not necessarily being receptive, but then again, maybe Yi's advice is just to be receptive to Him specifically. I honestly don't know but thought I would bring this up for what it is worth.

My interpretaation of these three castings would be, first, that he hasn't given as much thought as he should to what he is doing -- and he knows it. On the other hand, he's quite willing to call you a "nag" in the situation as well and he may feel he's made a bit of a fool of himself -- but he tried his best.

So far as any "tweaking" I believe the Yi might recommend against that. Even a massive effort might not salvage much and you are advised to see that damage that has gone before and avoid further mishaps by noting the example thus far.

So far as hexgram 64 unchanging -- sounds like a great time to shed anything that isn't doing you much good -- and isn't going to.

Looks like your approach of leaving him to it is the right one according to the Yi - at least so far as I can see.
