I’m not sure what kind of geek it takes to appreciate this reading – probably something quite extreme – but I think it’s brilliant and wanted to share.
The background: a helpful programmer had fixed up a WordPress plugin for me, for use in the redesigned version of Clarity (still a work in progress). It all worked fine until I tried to add a sidebar to the page displaying*the plugin output. Then the sidebar suddenly ceased to work as a*sidebar – it was ‘displaced’ to the bottom of the page.
I set out to troubleshoot this through trial and error. Tried removing the plugin display from the page – sidebar displayed correctly. Replaced plugin display on page – sidebar displaced again.
So it had to*be*something about the code generated by the plugin causing the problem – but what?*There’s nothing in the source code*to say it has to display at*full-width, or indeed to set any width at all. No funny css classes, either; it’s all very simple stuff: a heading, some divs, some paragraphs.
I have the same layout with the same right-hand sidebar on my new free reading results page, and that works… doesn’t it? I cast*an online reading just to check the sidebar was where it should be on the results page. What to ask? How about, ‘Why doesn’t that sidebar work?’
Answer (with the sidebar in place next to it): Hexagram 8 with line 6 moving:
‘Seeking union without a head.
Pitfall.’
After a bit more puzzling, I found the problem. The code generated by the plugin ended with ‘’, but there was*no corresponding opening ‘’. Seeking union without a head of its own, the stray tag had prematurely closed a wrapper div before the sidebar.
You wouldn’t necessarily think a 3,000 year old book could debug your WordPress plugin for you…

Hi there. I appreciated it, not much of a geek though hehe, and I appreciated that cute ladybug picture as well <3 I think other than appreciating it, it makes you think the countless uses the IC can provide to us, I think if you have an open mind you can use it in any field. Thanks for sharing Hilary.

I did ask about monte-carlo simulation of neutron particle transport using a computer app (MCNP, Windows), did I use the right input data (coefficients to obtain radiation dose from neutron flux), a rather hi-tech question.
Yi gave a positive sign, and the calculations turned out to be in sync with real physical experiment and thus I've earned my phd in radiobiology.

Almost 4 years later, there was a problem with a similar project, software simulation of radiation accident and the effect on the human body. After presenting the method of express estimation of absorbed dose, we've found out that there was a rather big error. And Yi have confirmed my suspicions with h18.2 and 18.3.
After some modifications (Yi approved) the new method was developed.

Congratulations, Dr. Ashteroid!

(But somehow I find Hilary's example easier to relate to. ;))

Oh, and hexagram 8 - Seeking Union or Bonding. Bonds and unions require two things, a pair.

Looking/seeing is what you had to do. Look for the bond. Look for the pair.

(By the way, I read this on the blog where it's fine, but the < div > and < / div > tags disappeared here in the forum.)

Tarot is also very versatile tool,
at one occasion it showed what was the problem with car seat heating.

It was indeed broken wiring in the backrest (not in the cushion).

Oh my gosh!

 :bows:

Did you understand it at the time, or in hindsight?

It was an instant understanding, very literal and easy to interpret.
Swords - metal connectors/wiring, pierced, spine (look inside backrest not the cushion).

This card has some humour in it: "isn't it an overkill to have 10 swords? wouldn't 1 be enough? cheer up it's not so bad" it says.
