Hi!

When i asked
How beneficial is exercise for me?

It has to do with some health issues and I don't feel strong enough to start
exercising, plus I'm lazy as hell...

Surprisingly, I got 7.1.3.4.5 --> 43

I got the strange impression that I'm being talked out of it?

Can it be true?

Please help me out here...:bows:

Yes i think it can be true...its something i noticed too...that Yis advice doesn't always go along with the current blanket message that to be healthy we have to do all this exersize. i think its a very individual thing...and whats more it can be highly counter productive if you go beyond your limits

Hmmm.....but I have to say i think this reading is much more about your will and determination than the Yi talking you out of it. I see it as pretty strong message, not that you should or shouldn't exersize but that if you are going to excersize you will need to make a firm decision about it (43) and exersize a good degree of self control and self discipline (7) I reckon you will also need a plan, a strategy to keep you on the straight and narrow....yet also maybe take care of what particular type of exersize you choose (7.3) . I don't think this is something you can just head into without thought. You need to choose something sustainable for you, to remind yourself of why its important and find the most enjoyable and beneficial form of exersize for you (7.5). 7.4 is about retreat from a project but as you have 4 lines moving I'm seeing the answer much more like a sentence...something like making resolve(43) over plan of action(7)

I can see why 7.3 and 7.4 may make you think its not a good idea but i think it more likley its a suggestion you need to be quite picky about what you do and how you do it....and when you do it

If you don't feel strong right now, (not sure in what sense you meant that) also thats something to take into account..if you've been ill or are recovering from infections etc too much exersize can really sap you and delay recovery

The 43 also makes me wonder if you have been advised its quite crucial that you do start to take exersize now, by a Dr or something. 43 can be pretty much make or break time...oh yeah looking back i see you said there were health issues

Thanks Trojan!

Yes I keep getting the message from doctors, chinese doctors, massage therapists that I need to exercise, it's not the weight at all...
I'm not overweight, but muscles are really weak, especially for my age...
I was told to tone the muscles

And one doctor who practices both Western And Chinese Medicine told me to exercise...

Yes, I keep getting this message

And I hate it

LOL well hating it really isn't a good place to start..it can't benefit you if you hate it, you just won't continue in it...but there is usually something that people find they enjoy...and it does make you feel much better

theres so many ways to exersize...maybe you just need to think more about what you might enjoy..classes are more motivating than doing it alone..maybe.dance, tai chi, yoga, kick boxing, cycling, swimming......there must be something to tempt you...or you could simply just walk more

One thing is for sure exersize is great for any kind of depression, thats been proven...it produces endorphins that give you the feel good factor...so its not just your body that benefits from exersize

How beneficial? Very, as you need to do it. You cannot compromise with health, a sticky plaster will not prevent a heart attack, but you don't need to go down the gym and sweat it, there are many gentle ways to exercise without killing yourself. Believe what the people are telling you and find a way to exercise that you will learn to enjoy, laziness is just a horrible excuse. So don't fight the thought of exercise, just go with it until it becomes a part of your daily routine. I've been doing exercise for years now and I feel bad if I miss a day.

I see everything in this reading for why an exercise program is good, agree with Wf across the board on this one.

I'd interpret 43 as literally breaking through the obstacle, which your atrophied body has prevented. The weak condition of your body provides the excuse for not doing what is necessary to make your body strong. That excuse is what's broken through.

Telling yourself you hate it is also an army, one you create to fight the army that wants to workout and get fit. 7 requires discipline, which isn't always about what we feel like doing. It's about doing it when we don't feel like it. That attitude and approach gets big results, helpful to every function of the body and mind.

I'm a personal testimony of letting my muscle structure atrophy in order to baby a neck injury, which eventually practically dominated my life, and led to several other physical problems.

Only when I decided to take myself in hand (7), went out and bought the right size and weight curved barbells, and disciplined to work through the pain - to build up my natural neck muscle structure, which has to support this overgrown coconut head - that I broke through (H43!) the weakness and had developed enough muscle structure to deal with simple things like pillows and dress shirts and ties, handling the stress of setting the hook on a fish, a golf swing, or being able to sit at your desk another minute. Once the structure was strong enough, I broke through 90% of the pain and related physical problems. The remaining 10% I deal with in other ways. Quitting smoking even came after that, as confidence grew. Because now I wanted to climb that hill, without having to stop to recover my lost breath.

The doctors, in this case, agree with my interpretation of your reading. Learn to like it, find what style works for you, but use it or lose it, is how it works. Don't think about trying, don't even entertain the word try, just do it. Get started. Read up, research, approach it as a good thing.
