Yi's references to "confidence"? 9.4 > 1, 16.4 > 2, 55.2.4 > 11

Someone I miss terribly has stopped responding to me and overall it's a very heavy, very thorny situation. I asked what I could do, if anything, to connect with him again.

First, I received 9.4 > 1. I thought maybe this meant either that I should just be sincere and influence in a small way, or that the blood has already passed and there's nothing I can do. I've told him I don't know what I should do now, but that I care about him and hope he's okay.

In the vacuum of no response, though, I kept thinking about that reading and wondering if I'm understanding it, so I asked for clarification on what I could do. I received 16.4 > 2. Because of hexagram 2 here, I thought maybe it meant I should be receptive for him to gather with me in his own time.

But this was still gnawing at me, so I asked what step I could take this week towards he and I connecting again, and I received 55.2.4 > 11.

All of these readings refer to sincerity or confidence, but I'm not sure if it means for me to take a confident action, express myself from the heart, or trust and wait? Curious what people with more knowledge or insight might think about the connections between these lines and the translations?

16.4 Your enthusiasm for this man drew him to you. He enjoyed your love without really knowing how he felt about you. You might say you swept him off his feet.
Now I believe he's no longer responding to your energy. This is the situation described by hex. 2:
Hexagram 2 as the second hexagram often describes a situation that has come to rest with no further action taking place until energy builds up again. A vacant field.

As for what you can do this week towards the two of you connecting again -
55.2.4 Seeking him out wont make him recognize his feelings for you. They have to rise up within him.
11. Be at peace.
Perhaps this is saying that by totally leaving him alone he will have a chance to think through his position and perhaps come to realize he would like to reconnect. Maybe the advice is, "He wont miss you until you go away."

This is not the time to push forward or try to make something happen, rather it's a time to review and prepare.

You don't have to delete this thread, and you shouldn't feel ashamed. I was really talking about myself, and the fact that I usually find it confusing when there are many questions - and hence many hexgrams, lines, responses - to the same topic.

But if you or others find it helpful, that's fine.
