Can't find the actual record of the casts but if I haven't mentioned it before, (I may have) I've seen 34uc as a prognosis for recovery from illness turn out well. One perhaps 'stands one's ground' against all them bugs or whatever !

One day I finally had some time to do some housework that due to a lot of other things had gotten put off. I really hate to do housework like this. So I thought I would put Yi to the test for my own learning since I knew that by the end of the day, I would know the outcome.

How is my housework going to go today?

Well let me tell you it was a strange day. It was sort of a holiday where I live, and though typically a work day, most people were going to be either participating or being affected by others who were participating.

I had started the housework and realized the first thing I needed to do was to fix a necessary appliance which required conferring with others. That was a big relief since I didn't really have to worry about calling someone home. I then realized that I needed to go to the bank to drop off payment for a bill. Now where I live, there are those that believe that there are inauspicious times for this or that or for this or that activity. Anyway, a friend called to inform me that it was inauspicious to leave the home. It just happened to be of an eclipse like it is today which was part of the reason for being inauspicious. Well do you know what?! I felt like afraid of bad juju suddenly until I realized what the hell am I doing?

So I did go to the bank. But that whole thing had taken some wind out of my good intentions, so when I returned from the bank, I stopped for a coffee just so I could sit by the water and take a moment.

While I was there, I found myself getting more agitated not less! My mind started racing. I started to think a lot. By the time I got home, i spoke with my mother -- for an hour an a half! One of these calls where lots of memories get discussed, mountains climbed, people who have passed, lol, a plethora of catharsis. By the time that finished, it was time for dinner. I ended up on the couch reading an autobiography of Agatha Christie.

Despite all my powerful intentions, I remained stationary as Trojina and others mentioned. Lightening over water. It just wasn't the right time after all. " Thunder in heaven above: The image of The Power of the Great. Thus the superior man does not tread upon paths that do not accord with established order. "The forces weren't aligned. Unless it was actually the bad juju that got me.

Hello, this is my first post so hello everyone!Recently I got hexagram 34 unchanging I asked the oracle whether I should invite a girl from my work that I am interested in to a party, and then involve myself romantically/sexually with her. Can anyone comment on the result that I've got??

You initially posted your question here and a moderator moved it to Shared Readings because you are asking for help with a query. These unchanging threads are for people to share their experiences of how the unchanging casting played out for them with hindsight, after they have already understood what the reading meant.

I had this reading when I was behind on my rent. My landlady was getting frustrated. I had plenty of money coming however it was still cyberspace processing. I did have some money so I paid what I could and said I would pay in advance or at least be up to date by next week.

I woke up one weekend to no electricity and despite trying to reset the fusebox, calling two electricity companies, knocking on neighbours' doors, getting some power from the attic (didn't work, still don't know why) and calling my landlord in a bit of a panic, I ended up convincing myself it just won't get fixed until Monday. So I decided to ask I Ching what this whole power down situation is all about. Received 34uc.
I guess, aside from the obvious description of excessive use of power and its consequences (how can one not trust the I Ching? ), "standing ones ground" is quite fitting, as I was forced to deal with the situation completely my way and pretty much on my own, which I realised after eventually reaching my landlord... It also gave me the opportunity to stand my ground in terms of communicating with him, as well as, in a way, to find out who my true friends are. And funnily enough, after taking some time to summarize the lines, I realized that Wilhelm's commentary to line 3 about renouncing the empty display of force in the right time (aside from describing social dynamics, as the rest of the hex) might directly point to the moment of shutdown?
Monday morning I finally managed to get an appointment with an electrician and as he was on the way I decided to try and reset the fusebox once more. You probably guess what happened. It worked. I quickly called back to apologise and cancel and, as if it all wasn't weird enough, apparently the appointment was never registered in their system.
Maybe I could have tried harder, earlier, do something else to get it back on sooner. But for some reason, even before I received this hexagram, I felt a strong need to just get through this situation my way. As if subconsciously I needed this time for myself. I wasn't scared or angry or even cold, just very focused and still within. I finally got the time to think some things through that were long overdue. It's still weird to imagine I probably could have avoided it completely, had I initially "lost my goat" and just approached it a bit differently, but I guess this is exactly the lesson I needed. And I learned and experienced a great lot in just those two days of darkness that I brought on myself...
On a side note, in traditional Chinese medicine terms, I've been dealing with an imbalance of excessive yang for while, so a very yin weekend might have done me some good.

I have been viewing this thread after receiving 34uc and I must say I had not thought of it in terms of 'standing your ground'.
A few years ago I started riding a pushbike in order to get/keep fit but I never did it very consistently. Then one morning I fell off and broke my wrist which was repaired (at my age with plates and pins). After that I became quite timid and lacked confidence so I gave up. Since then I have moved from the rural area where I rode and now live in a suburban area where there is a lot more traffic. I really needed to get fit in some way as my knees and feet were getting painful with just walking for exercise, and the bike was sitting there in the garage not doing anything.
I asked Yi about riding again. I got 34uc and considered that it was saying yes, go ahead, but do it carefully and be consistent. Do all the rituals, like check the tyres, wear a high vis vest, remember to switch on lights etc etc, go slowly at first, maybe even follow the same route each day.
So far I am only on day 2 and it seems to be working.
I thought of Hilary's statement on the sequence from Hex 33.
"Things cannot end with retreat, and so Great Vigour follows.

I had asked the I Ching about the nature of the Tao. Of all that it is.

And then the I Ching gave me 34 unchanging, Thunder over Heaven, which is extremely appropriate.

That the Tao is powerful indeed. It is the perfect harmony, therefore it is great and powerful.

The nuclear hexagram, 43, Lake over Heaven, also very appropriate indeed.

And as if that were not enough... the nuclear hexagram of 43 is 1.

Hello! I’m shararing my experience, yet waiting for the material manifestation on this one

My question was: “will I have the opportunity to study a Law Master this Semester” = 34UC

I applied to 2 universities and I’m yet missing another one to apply for this year. Yet I have another application for next year, that must be sent this year also. (Sorry about my English, is not my native)

I think the IChing is talking about good chances to get a spot (I’m in Germany, and believe me it’s very difficult to be accepted here!), ever since I follow the steps and send the right documents in a timely manner.

I’m really hopeful about this one, this is like MY DREAM.......... and I’ll share here the manifestation by October.

I'm in a relationship with someone I admire and love, but I keep falling apart about it, meanwhile he remains steady. I asked the I Ching, how can I learn from him? the answer was 34 uc.

I thought at first it meant I should take some kind of action. But I read Hilary's post about it being "like a tree". So I think it's about me standing in my own power.

34 unchanging was my daily cast for today.
I tried something new, to "ask" for guidance for the day with my body and deeper mind, rather than with the frontal lines and cognitive processes where anxiety usually creeps into my questions.

The answer made me smile.
I have been struggling with being sick, discouraged, broke, many problems that all come down to situations that are not my fault but I must accept and push through. There also some opportunities to get "out" but I have been stuck emotionally unable to access willpower and endurance, flitting about or being excessively dependent, afraid to ask for and demand what I need from inaccessible systems.
All this leading to a recurrence of suicidal ideation. Too much trouble...a desire to give up.

34 - stand your ground. Use force.

I can't quite put in words how deep this cast strikes. Using force is something I have long feared and demonized in myself or been made to feel "evil" for doing - in uncontrolled ways.
Even being afraid to strike when a friend tried to instruct me in boxing.
