I had 19uc again today - about a piece of work and whether I needed to add substantially more to it or just finish off the loose ends. Consequently I resolved just to finish up loose ends (I interpret 19uc, for me, as an unambiguous thumbs up) although the loose ends took longer to finish than I’d anticipated! But there was no need (or time!) for me to have added substantially more to the piece of work.

I received hexagram 19 in my weekly readings about work, the week started out quite fortunate and got off to a good start Monday, however that night after work I had one to many drinks and it kind knocked me off path for the rest of the week and I got very little done.
It was a literal case of two steps forward one step back, at least I guess there is progress.

I could relate to Rosada's post, the advice i believe you really to need be careful and grab any opportunity you can, if I could sum this hexagram up in one saying it would be "we reap what we sow"

Interesting, I just cast 19uc for 'will I go to the the Well today? '
It is a tidal well, that is also a Holy Well that I visit for spiritual peace, and also to collect water for drinking.
Parking can be tricky, as there is a long straight fast road that lands right in the city centre.

What is interesting is that I've noticed, around September / October, that the pure sweet water becomes slightly brackish (saltwater intrusion, apparently). It appears to happen during high tides, which is Sept / Oct.

(Just a note: it is a tidal well, because it is situated in the interstitial zone, where the tide comes in and out. )

he is saying the misfortune in the eighth month, in light of his question, is going to get drinking water in September/October when it becomes brackish from the higher high tides at that time.

I just received 19 UC on this new years eve. About renting my place to a group of people for 2 years and moving out. It seems there's a lot of experiences of the 2 steps forward and one back here. I liked the quote from the WikiWing though. Hoping that UC precludes the misfortune in the eighth month though.

I received the "insufficient funds" message when trying to use my bank card while there should be much more money.

I asked the I Ching if something was wrong with the bank card and received 19uc. "In the eighth month there will be evil." I had gotten this card EXACTLY 8 months ago, the same day of month; and the card worked quite properly before that.
The money was safe; the card was the problem.

I got hexagram 19uc yesterday morning as a reading for the day.
I had an eye exam scheduled and as it turned out I arrived a half hour before my appointment. The receptionist told me I wouldn't be called for an hour, so I left. When I returned an hour later the receptionist was stressed as she expected I would wait in waiting room, when it turned out I'd gone my slot was given to another. So I had to wait awhile longer for my turn.

I now see how hexagram 19 can be a warning about being ahead of time.

From Hilary's text: "[...] this great, growing energy [...] asks for your full participation, and seeks to reach fruition and be realized." I'd read "full participation" as staying in the waiting room not to miss eventual changes in the schedule.
And "But its surging growth can be disastrously interrupted by 'reaching an end in the eighth month'": This I'd apply as leaving the office was a disastrous (well, mildly so) interruption. The process was no complete yet, so (from Hilary's text again), "you need to stay present to its ongoing changes".

It's unusual for me to see Yi's answer that clearly.

yes - I’d agree with this! Although my reading is more simplistic - despite unpromising appearances, beneficial influences approach. So rather than a warning about not being early it’s advising you to expect better outcomes than promised. If you’d have stayed in the waiting room you might have had an earlier appointment than you’d initially hoped. Of course we can never know…

I am wondering if the answer can be about timing.like make hay while the sun is shining. I am getting the feeling like act right now or as Hilary says be present, she was present and her relative made a full recovery. I think there is window on the reading, the window will close at some point if the correct action is not taken.

A friend of mine had invited many people to his house for an evening with a lecture and a recital. I was hesitating if I should accept, as I knew that there would be all too many people. On the other hand, I thought it would be very interesting. So I asked the Yi: what if I accept this invitation and go there?

19 unchanged. I took it as a "yes" - something to look forward to - and wrote to my friend that I wanted to come, if still possible. However, he wrote me back that I was far too late already, as many, many people had confirmed to come so that his house would be very full of people.

This evening will take place in September, by the way!

Good timing seems to be essential in this reading.

19 uc has always been reassuring and Positive IME, notably i cast it for a job prior to the interview, got the job had regualr shifts and they wanted me for more, but i ended up not wanting to do them all as some we very early morning and i couldn't get there without a car. Interestingly towards the end of winter, before the I quit because the boss wasnt actually managing operations instead two of her instructors that had been there the longest unoffically managed everything and it was just too many peop managing.

20 uc , just qucikly as i realise this is not the 20 thread, retrospectively has outlined actions i really needed to think about a bit longer before doing. Even though in casting 20 i did 'contemplate' my ans, still didnt look long or hard enough, so i now respond with extra patience when i get it.
