Late night talk show host Stewart laments about the House not impeaching Trump.

What is going on with the House of Representatives? 29.2.5 Repeating Chasms to 2 Earth.
Line 2 says, "The chasm has sheer sides. Seek small gains." Will the House not impeach Trump?
Line 5 says, "The chasm does not overflow, Here it already finds its level – no mistake." Will the House be viewed negatively?

What is Pelosi up to? 33.2.3.5 Retreat to 64 Not Yet Across
Line 2 says, "Using yellow rawhide to bind it, It will never be capable of getting loose." Will she care more about her position?
Line 3 says, "Tied retreat. There is affliction, danger. Nurturing servants and handmaidens, good fortune." Will she work with her coworkers?
Line 5 says, "Praiseworthy retreat. Constancy, good fortune." Will she be viewed as a hero in the future?

Situation in the House: Late night talk show host Stewart laments about the House not impeaching Trump .... What is going on with the House of Representatives? 29.2.5

As with football, it's just so darn easy to be the armchair quarterback with politics - from either behind our computers and the internet or in front of a TV camera with millions of viewers. But it's just as likely that we don't have a complete nor a longterm view on things.

With hexagram 29 you have two chasms repeated, which could mean that Pelosi is well aware that there is trouble within (say within the House and the Democratic Party) and trouble without (say in the Senate and with the Republican party).

She may feel - or even know - that she doesn't have the votes within the House to impeach and she certainly knows there are not the votes in the Senate for an indictment. So, realistically - and facing these twin chasms - she thinks it's better to get on with business at hand and make differences where she realistically can.

Line 29.2 seems to support this: 'The canyon holds risks. Seek modest gains.' Perhaps, that it's better to work towards modest gains and not pursue an impeachment without a chance of a Senate indictment.

Similarly, with Line 29.5 - 'The pit is not flowing over. To appreciate the level attained is not a mistake.' To call for Trump's impeachment would certainly 'overflow the pit' and to have the 'canyons flooded' with a prolonged fight with the Senate is perhaps not the correct or wisest course of action.

Instead, she wants to look towards - and build upon - what's already been attained - such as the Democrats winning back the House, and realistically build on that victory.

The related hexagram 2 could be a call for down-to-earth, practical action, and not to pursue something that doesn't have a chance of happening, or which could make things worse instead of better. There are other ways the 'pit could overflow': for example, a few dozen Democratic congress persons are from districts that voted for Trump, and perhaps Pelosi realistically fears that if they were to vote for impeachmnent it could endanger their seats in the House.

Part 2 - a few quotes and impeachment reality check.

Question: Why Don’t We Impeach?" Answer: 'Good question... and I’ll tell you the simplest answer: To successfully impeach a president you need the votes in the U.S. Senate.'

and ... if 'we regain control of the United States Senate we can be far more effective than an effort to impeach the president, which has no chance of succeeding.'

Who said these things? Perhaps moderate or conservative Democrats talking about Trump? No. These quotes are from Ted Cruz (former) and John McCain (latter) when people were talking about impeaching Obama.

Impeachment sounds so very grand and far-reaching, but it is like a grand jury indictment: it means very little unless you also have a conviction (in this case by the Senate).

Best, D.
