Hi Sergio,
I cannot agree this is a worthwhile paper. It starts out with a magical notion of Occam's razor popular with the likes of Laplace, that the simplest explanation is to be deemed scientifically true and therefore an equation in the least number of variables is the Truthiest in current terms. William of Ockham, called Occam in Latin, wrote that an explanation required some basis in objective evidence rather than the abstract speculation without any basis in anything that was prevalent in his day.

The paper then goes on to take the view that Yin/Yang is all about polar opposites or as he puts it in his axiom:
The natural way that problem-solvers structure their
answers to such questions is in terms of dichotomies, i.e.questions with either/or answers. This is the fundamental structural axiom. It corresponds to the
yin / yang dimension which is so central to Eastern culture.
This is a questionable assumption in Western management science and very peculiar in terms of Chinese views. The tortoise shell oracle with its dichotomy of "Will/Will Not" or dichotomy answers taken at least in pairs (cf hex 41,42 when 10 such pairs are required for a really, really good answer) was replaced by the Chou Yi which gave an answer in terms of Yin and Yang patterns or gua which were not just dichotomies but holistic images or gestalt.

Even his quote of the Yi illustrates how he is abusing the Chinese notions. He quotes
The yang having reached its climax retreats in favour of the yin; the yin having
reached its climax retreats in favour of the yang
which in Western terms describes Yin and Yang as similar to the trig functions of sine and cosine which show this relationship in the unit circle. No one takes those trig functions as dichotomy, they illustrate process development in a 3-D matrix however to notice that would require recognition that the Chinese philosophy was based upon sine wave principles like Western wave physics, generally far beyond the hard science abilities of management social science types.

However other than these fundamental judgment limitations, it is a nice academic article connecting the author's work to major bibliographic authorities in the literature so that he can succeed under publish or perish.
