If you haven't come across Lon Mi-Lo DuQuette you've missed out on a very humourous writer. In his book, "The Book of Ordinary Oracles" he includes a section on the I Ching. Amusing but insightful at the same time.

Enjoy. Bob

Hi Charly, a random choice:

10 Treading

You're riding a tiger.
Enjoy the ride, but for heaven's sake, be polite.

6. Success! But only time will tell if it was the right thing to do.
5. You'll make it if you don't lose sight of the danger.
4. I know it's scary, but keep moving.
3. Ouch! Sorry. You're in way over your head.
2. Don't get caught up in things. Pretend you're a hermit. Enjoy the simple way.
1. Keep it (and yourself) very very simple.

I no longer participate in the forums, so you'll have to make do with this.

Funny althogh the author seems to be working not over the chinese original. I never thinked about riding a tiger.

lu3: to tread on / to step / to walk / to follow /
hu3: tiger / fierce / brave /
wei3: tail / rear / back /

bu4: not / no /
咥人die2ren2: (gnaw / bite) + (man / person / people)

heng1: sacrifice / feast / celebration / enjoy / prosperous /

I enjoy too much the image of the tiger, but maybe there are more alternatives, one of them:

FOLLOWING BRAVES BACKS
Going after the braves
Guarding their backs
Following their example

NOT GNAWING-PEOPLE. // NOT BITING-PEOPLE
Not like rodents, not like rats. // Not aggressive , not sarcastic
No without honor. // Good followers

FEAST / CELEBRATION
Enjoy it

Moral:

Enjoy the honor of following the braves.

FOLLOWING THE BRAVES
Following the tiger´s way

WITHOUT BITTING MEN
But not hurting people

FEAST
Something to celebrate.

ATTILA THE HUN

ATTILA THE HUN was an awful pest, but there are plenty of others.
You mustn´t blame him for all your troubles, because most of them are your own fault,
and sooner you realize it, the better.
