I now realise that I suffered from a complete lack of insight in my handling of the IMHO thread.

I had important things to say, but in so doing I was unnecessarily offensive, and let the discussion degenerate into a slanging match.

In mathematics, "problem" is a positive word. In philosophy "argument"
is not emotion-laden trench fighting. In Yixue there's the elephant and
the blind men, lots of ambiguity and not lots of agreement. We have our
various specialties, like at a shopping mall - it's just not necessary to
deride cosmetics in order to sell auto supplies, at least until the
cosmetics folks start to want all of the money.
