I asked yi why he wants to reconnect?

I got 51 hex. I don't know if this is to do with our unexpectedly bumping in to each other or if there is a shock to come.

Any insights are welcome

The Yi could be just referring to your unexpectedly having bumped into him and is simply drawing your attention to the aspects of shock described in Hex 51. "Shock comes ... then laughing words" - helps to keep the whole thing in perspective regardless of whether or not you actually end up laughing. Not letting fall the sacrificial chalice and spoon hints at you keeping your focus on your work and direction. This answer isn't revealing anything about future developments, it is simply commenting on how to respond to shock by remaining calm and clear.
