I asked, "What next for the U.S.A.?" as in , "What's the next front page soap opera? We've already had impeachment, pandemic, police shootings, Black Lives Matter protests, forest fires, hurricanes, disrupted debates, Bibles with tear gas, election turmoil, vaccine roll outs, and now insurrection. What more are the gods planning to come up with?"

50.4 Spilled Caldron - 18. Work to be Done

I so hope this cast is pointing to bi-partisan efforts to work together to rebuild a better country but I fear it's a prediction of mayham coming.

50.4 shows incompetence.

8 more days of the incompetent insane mob boss who has blood on his hands?
Sounds about right.

Maybe it depends on who Yi thinks the prince is, what the vessel is, etc. Bradford's translation of the fan yao:
'Indulging father’s fixations
To continue meets with disgrace'

That certainly seems relevant, even if we're not sure how to apply it. Who has everyone been indulging for 4 years?

The paired line - I'm terrible with line pathways, but the paired hexagram sometimes seems to me like what's on the other side - is 49.3:
'Setting out to bring order means a pitfall,
Constancy means danger.
As words of radical change draw near three times,
There is truth and confidence.'

Wonder if the "words of radical change" are the votes and resolutions going on in the House?

If the vessel is Trump's support in Congress, it's possible tiny, tiny cracks might be forming. Three House Republicans have said they'll vote to impeach, including Liz Cheney who's the third-ranking Republican.

In the Senate, apparently McConnell has indicated he's not unhappy about the efforts.

"In letter to Pelosi, Pence rejects House effort to remove Trump"

So if 50.4 is about what Bradford says it's about, a servant bringing a meal to the duke in a cauldron, could that be Pence still trying to serve Trump? "This servant could not help but see that broken leg, but feels compelled to serve the duke’s meal anyway," says Brad. And then the leg breaks, the cauldron collapses, the stew spills...

Who knows, though.

As far as the first part -
'Setting out to bring order means a pitfall,
Constancy means danger'
- wonder if it means what Trump had to say today, insisting his speech to the mob was perfectly fine. He also threatened the Biden administration. :rolleyes2:

There, I've recorded all my guesses, since I have such a good track record with your threads, Rosada.

"Setting out to bring order means pitfall." Harsh warning against proceeding too quickly before all the pieces of the puzzel are sorted out. Like the Repubs saying, "Let's put it behind us and move forward."

50.4
Thinking about how all the lines in a hexagram are necessary or it wouldn't be a hexagram and thus 50.4 and the spilling of the soup must somehow be essential to the creation of the Caldron. And it's the teaching line too! So what is it we're needing to experience to learn now? How to repair a broken country? And 49.3 says first thing to recognize is we can't just moosh it back together. It was never together to begin with...

Good thought. Necessary or maybe inevitable.

I often go back to my "favorite" ( 😐 ) hexagram 50 reading for things like this, when I got it unchanging about the new washing machine I bought back in 2011. It's in WikiWing in the Pair section.

Rightly or wrongly, that one made me think of 49 and 50 as a cycle. We're humming along, then someone thinks of a new way to do something, or something changes significantly - some 49-ish thing. It's necessary to deal with 49, but it means starting over, and it's a process (50). There are growing pains, and parts of it can be a big mess. Eventually it gets worked out (50.5.6). Then something changes again (starting with 50.6?), and round we go...

Electric cars might be another example. Good idea, but they're expensive, we don't have good charging infrastructure, etc. etc., and unless/until those things are worked out it'll be hard to get widespread adoption.
