Concerning hex. 38

Hex. 38: somehow I Ching is telling me that I'm going to meet with/being confronted with Opposition/Espy/Diversity.... (in the commentaries this hex. is a picture of a bow with an arrow) and I could also ask myself how I should prepare myself for that situation; here I mean that I'm somehow is going to prepare myself for to distinguish between two opposit - what soever: two salesmen trying overgoing each other in telling me that their goods will be the best for me. I got to choose between those two combattants to example. Where else would I find the advise from I Ching ? Hex. 38 unchanging. That I should avoid the situaion in stead of taking part in it ?
I just meant that finding the advise in this Judgement and Picture I will find myself in a "distinguish-attitude" ( don't know if such a word exist...). The novice asking and yet not expecting to find a clear and definit answer anywhere.

Another way to perceive 38 is to think in terms of trigrams. The commentary likens lake and fire to two people living in the same house but wanting (aiming at?) different things . . This shows a basic commonality and the differences involved. Sometimes it shows someone of two minds or people working in the same company yet on different departments. I think, if you need to choose and you got 38, it'd be better if you focused on the quality of what they have in common and how each of them applies it, or, take it the other way and try to find which you dislike less

I have found that sometimes unchanging hexagrams work like advice showing you that you need to avoid the situation they describe, like signs on the street.

let them compete each other :) .. .I'm serious. ... good salesman ought to know the competition and they "use " it - in a disguise or upfront way - to highlight their products so you can double check their products and use their knowledge , for and against arguments, so you can draw your decision.

You don't' have to press them a lot because sometimes the become defensive , just in a careful way stimulate a "fair play" :) Don't know whether you need to buy that product or not but if its necessary and you don't know which they can help you ;)
