Stripped away

A note to explain my long silence here: my Mum died a couple of weeks ago, after a long and increasingly debilitating illness. I asked Yi, before we came over to visit her in hospital this time, what I could do for her, and it answered with 23, unchanging. So I set no directions, made no plans, and just kept her company – and that was enough.

  1. hi hilary

so sorry to hear about your bereavment. big cyber hugs from a stranger. i really enjoy your site but i hope you will take as much time as you need before you get back whenever that is.

    love
    mark.

  2. Thanks. Yes, it was a great help: I’m very much the planning-ahead type, so this let me slow down, prepare myself, and be there for her (instead of in 6 different possible futures at once). And somehow it also helped at the time of death, not quite sure how.

  3. I’m really sorry about your loss, Hilary. After all these years I consider you like my own family, even if I don’t participate as much as before in the forum.
My best wishes for you and your family.

  4. Dear Hillary

Feeling with you the sorry for this loss…

So many unchanging hexagrams. I hope that helps you in the mourning stage your start now: you did what was in your hands.. and you seized the time you had.

My best wishes and preyers for your family

  8. My heartfelt understanding with you and to your family Hilary. I am really sorry to know about your mother’s demise.

Another time when the inadequacy of words hits you.. Pray that her soul rests in peace and you have the strength to carry on doing her proud.

  9. Dear Hilary, I only just realised your mother has died a while ago. I’m so sorry to hear it. Thankyou for sharing your experience of such a difficult time.

Warm wishes and my deepest sympathy
