In this episode, Katarina and I discuss her reading about moving to a new part of the country – Hexagram 7, the Army, changing at line 2 to 2, Earth:
As we talk about her plans, you can hear the qualities of the hexagrams – that meeting of organised focus with openness to guidance that’s found in the moving line, where the general must stay on the alert for new orders…
‘Positioned in the centre of the army.
Good fortune, no mistake.
The king issues a mandate three times.’

Hi Hilary – there is an interesting parallel case to your Katarina casting – the one I recently had for my friend.
Katarina asked if she should move to other town (new part of the country).
My Friend Adam asked if he should move to other Company.
I Ching’s Answer to Katarina was: #7 (2) Army –> #2 Earth / Receptive
I Ching’s Answer to Adam was: #13 (2, 4) Seeking Harmony –> #1 Creative –> #9 Taming Power of Small
Common parts in both castings – both people were considering a move to other location (position) to improve their lives and they both needed I Ching advice for their move.
Differences – Katarina’s casting was recommending her to move, when my friend Adam’s casting was recommending to stay still and refrain from any actions at this time.
Let’s see how this is reflected in hexagrams themselves. That is interesting.
Adam’s Primary Hexagram #13 – Seeking Harmony
Other Names: Fellowship; Companionship.
Scholar Speaking: This hexagram is the inverse opposite version of hexagram #7 – Army.
So inversed to situation of hexagram #7 will this situation be. If in #7 you were a person leading the group, here you are a regular fellow working as equal inside your group. It is all about a teamwork. Share your vision and make alliances based on common interests and shared goals. No matter what you do, do it in the best interests of the group.
As we can see, Adam’s current situation is described by Primary Hex #13 which is mutually inverse-opposite with Hex #7 – Army which in Katarina’s current situation.
Is this the main reason why their final, target hexagrams have been giving opposite advices? Both people wanted to move, but their start situations were mutually opposite, which understandably caused exactly inversed-opposite recommendations !!!

Happy Casting !
Nice contrast! I seem to be coming across readings about major moves – often from one country to another – a lot lately. Maybe an astrologer could tell me why.
I would not necessarily always assume the resulting/relating hexagram represents a ‘target’, by the way. The whole reading is present simultaneously, after all – we only unpack it and look at it one step at a time because that’s how we think. But this is the subject of another post (or several).
