What a brilliant episode Hilary! I especially enjoyed the exposition of hexagram 4, along with the article by Mark Silver. Perhaps because it’s in line with the way I have experienced hex 4.
I think we can be quite hard on ourselves with this one. While Yi has an amazing way of correcting our course, I don’t feel that it ever wants us to feel bad about ourselves. I guess we interpret each reading with the clarity that we can muster at the time, which is why this website is so incredibly helpful for additional depth and perspectives.
Every time I have received 4, it’s been about summoning up some level of trust in the unknown. Therefore, I take it to say, ‘there’s a reason you don’t know about this’, and also ‘leave it to the care of the universe ( or whatever one might choose to call it)’. We’re mean to go through the learning experience for whatever reason. In my experience, it’s usually to build our trust levels.
It’s almost like a gentle experience of the void.
In regards to your next move ( or not!), I wish you the very, very best. We’ve had several moves over the past few years, and I just had to trust that we would end up at the right place for our family. And we did. But mostly, I wouldn’t have built up that trust had I not gone through those experiences. Those experiences ended up becoming a little box of treasures that I could refer to for the next time…
Sometimes we have just outgrown our surroundings without consciously knowing that we have done so. ‘Onwards and upwards!’ the Force declares, and we just have to shuffle our tiny feet to keep up. Change will happen anyway, but our attitude does determine the quality of our experience.
