31.4.5 in relation to a job???

Not sure how to read this answer. I am pursuing a career in teaching but there is not much available and I dont have much experience, plus I need some more classes to get my perm cert, though I can teach under my temp cert if someone would hire me. Anyway, I really need to get out of where I am as it is very stressful and not enough money. My mom suggested that I might have better luck getting hired as a teacher once I have all of my teaching classes, but that I could take something else in the meantime just to increase my pay scale. A guy I went out with the other night does pest control and was talking about how easy it was and he makes a lot more money than I do. I asked Yi if I should pursue this as a job and got 31.4.5? If I had asked about a relationship I could make sense of this answer, but I am not sure in relation to my job question.

my gut feeling when i look at your reading: you're being influenced by this friend, though you may be wishy washy about the idea.....line 5 might be hinting to stay resolute about what you are really looking for....or to be flexible about this and open to the idea..?

is pest control something you would like to do? Me, I would get the heebie jeebies...are we talking rats termites and cockroaches? how much time and effort does it take to become a pest control person? It might be good training for being a teacher, by the way

Not really being influenced by him, I mean he wasnt trying to convince me to do it. I dont know if I would like it or not, I just want something to get out of where I am and make more money until I can secure a teaching job. I would definitely need to find out more about it. I just wanted to see if Yi thought it was even worth checking into. We are not talking rats, bugs yes, but generally they are contracted where you spray once a month, office buildings, homes, etc, so I dont think you see too many. He said it did not take much training, I dont know, it was just a thought. I just so want to get out of the job Im in.

Interesting - Per Wihelm's 31.4 (and .5) I'd say the message is that you can take this "side trip" without problems but per 31.4 that's exactly what it is: a side trip/temporary gig. This wouldn't be where you're going/meant to be in the long run.

FYI, Legge's 31.4 speaks of "that firm correctness that will lead to good fortune and prevent all occaison for repentance." That seems to fit well too in that you're doing what you need to do to head off financial trouble AND I think it speaks to the caution/care you'd need to take working with toxic chemicals all day (which is what you'd be doing).

My feeling is Yi is saying this is a pretty flimsy idea, your intentions regarding this aren't very strong. I think the Yi is turning it back to you saying 'look you aren't convinced about this idea, your will towards it is weak'. I don't feel it is addressing the issue of whether it would be worthwhile or not, but the issue of seriousness of intention towards the job.

Like its an issue your're toying with, because of that there just isn't enough 'oomph' to do it.

Well it would be a temporary thing, hopefully, until I got a teaching job. But Void is right, I am a bit wary, that was why I asked the question. Im just looking for almost anything to get out of where I am. But unfortunately, though there are a lot of jobs available here, most of them are minimum wage or not much more. I think I will go back and ask what I should do to find something better. thanks.

So I asked what should I do about finding another job? 54.4.5 I think line 4 is saying to be patient and wait and an opportunity will appear, but Im not sure about line 5. Is it saying to show my skills to obtain a new job or to let myself shine in the one I am in???
