i don't think it has to be that altruisitic , I see it as an exploratory time, a fun time, just not a time to make permanent life arrangements (ie no house)...which I may have written elsewhere

That is a beautiful line yes I really love the bolded part. Someone centered and in touch with their higher self can find their calling or their destiny without hassles. Whichever road they follow is the right one for them, because they aren't side tracked by the pitfalls of the ego's desire.
That is very buddist oriented thing from my perpective. Really nice line :]
