If this were my question and that was the answer I received, I'd take it to be showing:
That I was feeling like my world had collapsed, that something to which I had given my life-energies and my time had not met with an equal commitment from other(s) who were involved. Perhaps they were initially attracted to me and/or my cause and fell away. I'd wonder if you had to make some kind of clean break from the situation just to preserve yourself. These things are suggested to me by Hex 8 as the scenario out of which your query rose.
When this situation first came about you had a goal in mind, something you wanted to do or to be. Hex 7 suggests that this goal or need is still unmet. You can start again by gathering up your resources - these could be different kinds of resources. Being around friends, as you mention, is one level of response.
- Other possibilities: gathering scattered thoughts using them to identify your initial or current most basic goal (if that is fuzzy) and to clarify how you can move toward that goal. (I may think my goal is a sizzling steak for supper, or a strawberry shortcake. If those are not available I might fear I would have to be hungry. If I can see that my goal is getting food I can broaden my search to include a lovely melange of brown rice, fresh green beans from the garden and roasted almonds.)
- paying attention to basic self-care physically - exercise, sleep, nutrition. In a time of crisis these can easily go by the wayside, yet doing your best with them will go a long way toward helping to get re-centered.
- If you have let things go in your environment, get help in putting things back to rights. Friends will ask, perhaps, if there is anything they can do - be specific and say: could you come over and just keep me company while we clear away the dishes?
- if the arts are important to you, line them up with your goal. Uplifting music, videos, art, poetry or other venues that may be important to you, all of these are resources you can marshal to your aid.
- time is another resource - how can you optimize your use of time?
You get the idea - marshal your army of resources - internal and external, and cut off anything that is not supporting your goals.
Line 2 would suggest to me a need for me to take charge of my own life, my own resources, - the reference to three times? - don't give up after the first try! This may take some effort, and you can do it! "Good fortune, no mistake!"
- The intermediate hex (2) which rises from the first changing line suggests to me that openness to making these changes in your life is important.
Line 5 suggests to me that you indeed have many opportunities to meet your goal - there are many options - "there is game in the field". The elder son - (the "you" that has grown from this experience) can lead your army of resources into the world. The younger son (the inexperienced "you" that existed before you knew what you have learned from recent heartache) may travel along with you carrying corpses (those things that now stink mightily). It's ok to let those things go.
Wishing you good fortune as you move on toward a better life! :bows:
