I can't stand it anymore. I have seen the same dream a lot of times before I brokeup till present. My ex leaves me for some reason and he never returns, I am so sad waiting... When I was with him I interpretated the dream as he will breakup. This is what happened but I am still dreaming the same dream. It' s annoying and it makes me so sad difficult to forget him.

So I asked I ching about : why do I see in my dreams X leaves me and never coming back to me?
53,2,4,5 / 50 hidden lines 57.4 & 44.5

It's difficult for me to interpret when I have so many lines. Actually I feel lost with the answer.

53.2 The man soon overcomes his initial insecurity. He acquires a good position, earns a reasonable livelihood, and enjoys the company of his comrades.
- This line could represent him.. eating and drinking with his friends. Or maybe I will overcome my insecurities about losing him or loneliness.. I am thinking that my dream shows me my fear of being alone.

53.4 A temporary position provides support through a transition.
- the dream it's temporary and shows only the transition...

53.5 Line five is a dynamic line in the ruler's seat, and yet appears here as the symbol of a wife. Somehow she has been at variance with, and kept in disgrace by, calumniating enemies such as the plunderers of line three; but things come right in the end. The wife, childless for three years, becomes at last a mother, and there is good fortune. The wife will have a child; minister and ruler will meet happily.
- Finally after a long time of being alone and dreaming the same dream... it will make sense : A delayed issue comes in due time... and perhaps I won't be alone anymore...

Something is being cooked 50...

57.4 I will solve the complex issue of the dream..
44.5 something suddenly and unexpectedly becomes manifest....

Any ideas please?

Well obviously I think because you are trying to process the fact that he has gone. It takes a very long time for the subconscious, where feelings remain active, to really grasp and accept unhappy things. Those who lose someone will often dream over and over about losing them or about them returning. Trauma cannot be processed overnight. The reading support this idea that you are undergoing a very gradual process. That 'coming to terms' is the 50. Out of the pain of abandonment you build a new sense of self, gradually.

I suggest that you relive that dream in your mind when you are awake and give it a different ending. Doesn't have to be a perfect ending but at least a better one than the dream offers. You will find over time these repetitive dreams will change as you absorb the lost relationship into your psyche. After significant loss one has to rebuild one's inner world and this takes time and patience. You become changed into a different person not just by happy things but by sad things also.

57.4 I will solve the complex issue of the dream..
44.5 something suddenly and unexpectedly becomes manifest....

As you did not cast these they are not part of your reading

Using the transitional line method, 57.4 and 44.5 are a part of the reading as follows ---

H 53.2.4.5 ---> 57.4 ---> 44.5 ---> H 50.

And Vissino, it seems that you have a clear understanding of your dream.

You asked "why do I see in my dreams X leaves me and never coming back to me?"

And Yi answered with the advise, "Gradually Advance (53)to the New Vessel (50)." Perhaps the dream will keep recurring until you Gently Penetrate (57) and Come to Meet (44) a new understanding (50) of it.

I like your insights about the lines: in 53.2 you overcome your fear of being alone, In 53.4 there is temporary support through a transition, in 53.5 things come right in the end .

I like both using the transitional method AND looking at the text of all of the changing lines. It gives me a more comprehensive understanding of the reading.

When was the last time you communicated with your ex? Are you sure he is not coming back? What is up with him?

I also like Trojina's suggestion of using a technique which I call a "dream correction," i.e., visualizing the dream as it happened but then visualize a change to the dream. I am trained to guide people in this technique. Sometimes people can do it without a guide and sometimes people need a guide to help them learn the process before they can do it on their own.

If you are able to do the technique on your own I would be interested in hearing what new ending comes. You may be surprised by what you mind reveals.

Thank you both for your answers!

The thing is... My dreams usually come true... They show me how things is going to develop... It's amazing how many of them come true..
This dream with my ex it's so painful. The same dream for months. We are together and then he has to leave.. sometimes we quarrel, sometimes he has some business etc. the point is he never comes back... When we were together I was sure that something bad is going to happen.. Ok finally we broke up... but the dream continues... never stops... I wake up so sad.. it's so painful... I really appreciate the dream correction technique and I will try it of course! How many times do I have o visualize it and for how long? One more thing.. what is the purpose of the technique?

When was the last time you communicated with your ex? Are you sure he is not coming back? What is up with him?
It was about 2 days ago. Really, I don't know if he is coming back or not. I am so so so confused. I feel I am in an impasse and I want just to be free. Considering my dream that he never returns.. Maybe we separated for sure. It's a big big story...

I remember one question I made before 2 months ago soon after our breakup...
Will he undertake action for our relationship?
53.5/52
The same line as above.. Do you think that there is a connection between questions?

It is a way of understanding the reading, part of the reading if you like but not the answer IMO just as the fan yao is not the answer but just something to help one consider the answer. If newbies start using such complex methods they just get confused. I've seen too many readings using this where the actual answer is ignored in favour of hidden lines or whatever you want to call them. You can use these lines to help consider another aspect of the reading but focusing on these lines in detail as part of the answer is not useful to people who are struggling with simply understanding the answer as they got it. As far as I am concerned the answer is 53.2.4.5>50 hence I wouldn't be interpreting 57.4 or 44.5.

Dear Trojina,

In my experience... A hidden line can give you the answer... Really!

Some dreams come true but there are a heck of a lot that are 'sorting and sifting' dreams, dreams that try to help your mind process things.

I really appreciate the dream correction technique and I will try it of course! How many times do I have o visualize it and for how long? One more thing.. what is the purpose of the technique?

I wouldn't call it 'dream correction' it's just something to try it's not like a formal exercise you have to do x amount of times afterall you cannot control the contents of your dreams to that degree. The purpose of it would seem to be that you consciously work with the dream to help it transform. So if your subconscious is 'stuck' like a broken record you can maybe help move it along.

Dear Trojina,

In my experience... A hidden line can give you the answer... Really!

You must use whatever methods suit you but if the hidden lines were your answer then you would have received them as your answer. Be careful not to avoid the answer you actually got by seeking out other lines you didn't get. Whatever methods you use the most important lines to focus on are the ones you actually got which here are 53.2.4.5. Also remember if you are chasing a particular outcome where you want a reading to say something you can go and find it by interpreting lines you didn't get.

I agree Trojina but if you ignore the hidden lines believe me you lose a lot of "hints"...

Anyway, I will try the 'dream correction' technique and I will let you know...
