How is my old friend's circumstances doing in general.

Am I right to think they are in a abit of jam but will come good in time.

if he were a friend i think you would be asking him 'how are you doing ?' as friends do. So I'm thinking this is about some ex girl friend and you wanna know what shes doing ?

Either way ask them..that would be the right steps to take (10) if you want to know how someone is doing, otherwise its idle speculation really and could mean any number of things...theres nothing to suggest s/hes in a jam or otherwise
