Hi

Hope someone can add some further insight to this reading. I have been made redundant due to covid-19 and have been looking for a new role for about 6/7 weeks and struggling to make any progress - a lot of the roles seem to be filled before they are even advertised or they are non-existent and just a CV collection exercise. So I think the reading is suggesting that I need to keep strong and persevere - don't undermine myself or overthink where I am (I am prone to worrying and having sleepless nights). Hexagram 35 seems much more positive - I assume the not sitting back part of the hexagram is to continue applying for roles and networking and progress will offer?

Is there anything else I have missed? Thanks in advance for you help.

It sounds like a general Advance(35) away from Oppression (47). I tend to emphasize a single changing line. Line 5 (The winning line) in particular means that there are external forces preventing you from Advance, almost like HR or hiring managers blocking your progress in some way. But it also indicates a gradual improvement, things will get better. You may receive a job offer sometime soon, although when isn't necessarily obvious.

Line 2 and 6 suggest to avoid cynicism or being trapped by your own fears, or ennui. Sometimes I read the winning line (line 5) of the resultant hexagram which in 35 means to discard cynicism and fears of failure when applying and interviewing. I dealt with something pretty similar earlier this year when I was unemployed and felt despair and anguish everytime I got rejected. I even had some HR people really pushing for me at one company but kept getting rejected by the higher ups (47.5). Eventually I got an offer somewhere else.

At some point soon things will give way and you'll find an opportunity.

Thanks for your insight Virupaksha - it is hard to not to be trapped by one's thoughts when applying for roles - especially in the current climate!
