Could 41 UC -Decrease- mean “at the gym”?

I inquired “where will I meet the man who truly wants to be with me?”
I have read all I can regarding this hexagram. While I understand what Decrease means (I think!) .... in terms of a place I was stumped.
Until it came into my mind that maybe this means “at the gym”. I mean - we all know how Yi has to be creative with answers sometimes!!!
So my thought was “at the gym” becuase my overall fitness goal is to lose weight therefore decreasing myself.

Thoughts?

Lorna, here is what I wrote about 41 unchanging a while back.
"I think 41 unchanging is about giving, not taking, being in service to others, to the greater good perhaps. We can decrease our feelings when upset over unfulfilled needs, wanting what we want, which is about "taking" - expectations (expectant joy,) happiness that depends on others - we can decrease those feelings by giving, by serving other people. I don't this hex is about repressing those kinds of feelings, we are created with needs and are socially interdependent being by nature. But feeling unfulfilled can really get in the way of actually finding fulfillment, I think.

For example during a few periods of extended unemployment when things did not look too good, I went out and played a lot of music for other people. Not to take their love and admiration, but to give something to the audience. This decreased my feelings of anxiety and edginess a lot. You give what you can - a couple small platters for the offering. A new song - some nachos maybe? Eating helps too!"

So maybe someplace doing volunteer work or something.

In general for me 41 has been a clear indication that "less is more" in terms of energy and attention. If I get 41 when asking about a problem, I know Yi is telling me to minimize my involvement as much as possible and that less is needed to move forward.

From the image, you can put your name in place of "noble one", so:

"lorna23 curbs anger, restrains desires."

And in the first part this struck me, in the context of your question: "Asking why, what is its use -
Two simple platters make the offering possible."

Overall I think this reading is telling you to take a step back from intensely looking for a man and try to simplify your drives in this area, at least for the time being. Yi is saying there is something about being less invested or focused that will open this pathway for you.

In terms of how Yi would indicate "gym," 41 doesn't suggest dieting or decreasing weight. It's not that kind of decrease. It's about decreasing your involvement or sacrifice and increasing your sincerity ("Two simple platters make the offering possible").

I have seen Limitation (60) come up in numerous diet/weight related questions for people, though.

LL -I had read what you posted during all of my reading about 41!!!! Thank you for sharing it here too.

mulberry - thanks for listing hex 60 as the gym related hex. I was going ask about that - if there was a hex that indicated the gym or working out or what have you.

I understand what y’all are saying. I need to just put it out of the mind and decrease the mental energy being put into it. I know this is true. I will certainly try to not try. Lol.
