Hi all, I hope that this new year has been treating you well!A few months ago, I asked a similar question about my book manuscript, and the hexagram 46, unchanging, "Pushing upward" came out. I had very good feedback from the community, and it helped me visualize my strategy, which worked. I asked for help from inspiring people, both real and on paper, and I proceeded with constancy. Now, I am ready to send the proposal with sample chapters, and I have been looking for what the publishing houses require from authors. I finished this task today, and I feel very anxious and scared. I started thinking that I will never find a publishing house that will accept my project etc etc and I ended close to "where madness lies". So I asked the question "Do I have good chances to publish with one of my top publishing houses?" and I received hexagram 12.1.4 "blocked" morphing into 42, "Increasing."I take hexagram 12 as an illustration of my fears, the "non-people," or ghosts that block my advancement. I am blocked by fear, and by what potential editors (but not real ones!) could say about my writing--of course all bad things... I incline not to think of these people as real, even if when I am particularly neurotic, i can imagine real people as "enemies" blocking my way.Is the changing line 1 telling me to focus for now on the details that come with submitting a proposal, and not worry about the rest?As for changing line 4, am I right in seeing that my mind will become clearer and more positive once I will finally start to write the letters of intent to the editors? (I have the book project, writing samples and all the rest done.)Hexagram 42 lifted my spirit, as it seems to say that once I get over these obstacles, some of which imaginary, others real, I will proceed with clarity and have good chances of landing a contract with a publishing house.Am I too optimistic in my reading? I sincerely welcome the community's suggestions and comments! With gratitude,Phoenix 2018

Hello Phoenix!

"Do I have good chances to publish with one of my top publishing houses?" 12.1.4 morphing into 42
Hexagram 12 changing to 42 sounds really promising! You have "good chances" there ...
12.1: "When ribbon grass is pulled out, its roots come with it. They are of the same kind. Continuing leads to success and good fortune." Legge comments: "The will of the parties intended is bent on serving the ruler." The publishing house is willing to cooperate with you...
12.4: " He whose actions are in accord with the orders of the highest receives no blame. His fellows share in his blessing." As they, too, will benefit from your good work.
That's how the increase replaces stagnation. Grab the chance!

Good luck!

Phoenix2018,

Setting aside your query for a moment, reading a post that is one long paragraph is very hard to do. Some newer members are having issues with their paragraph breaks showing. If that's the case for you, you can go to:

FAQ reading and posting messages forum and look at the second entry, 'Why does my published post have no paragraphs?'

Best. David.
