Going to India _ June or August ? Hex 4 -> Hex62 _ Hex 53 -> no changing lines

Hello,

I am planning to go to India this summer one month to study the basis of Ayurveda.
I know I'm lucky
I wrote to two schools. I get an answer, the first school gives me the choice to come in June or in August.
The second school didn't answer yet...

So, I ask the I Ching what will happen if I go in this first school in June ?
-> I get Hex 4 changing to -> Hex 62 (Changing lines 2, 3, 4 and 6 !)

Then, I ask the I Ching what will happen if I go in the same school in August ?
-> I get Hex 53 -> No changing lines

My reading of the results is :
-> Going in June
Hex 4 says "Don't think or don't try to be perfect, just go and things will happen. Go on, why would there be any problem with learning "science of life" ? You want to find yourself, so it's your time ! Don't wait any more !"

-> Going in August
Hex 53 says "Do at your own rythm (according to the meaning of "Yoga"), and you will be always 100% sure of what you are doing; step by step you will go always further and further on."

Right now I am embarrassed. Not confortable with both hexagrams. Maybe there is something I don't understand in both of them ?
Maybe the I Ching "feels" that I'm still waiting for an answer from the second school ??

So...I don't know which one to choose. Or if I should wait a little more.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Er 53, gradual process...the obvious, if you go in August it'll take longer because it's longer till August than it is till June

I think Yi's answers just give the question back to you. Make your own mind up. That is how I see the 4>62. Sometimes hex 4 can be 'quit bothering me with these questions'.. because you got 53 uc for waiting I see a joke here.

Yi is saying if you wait longer to go in August then what will happen is you will wait longer to go in August. OTOH if you go in June then you will er go in June.

I think all you don't understand is this is a matter of your choice....the Oracle batted the question back IMO. If you start feeling there are hidden omens in the answers with this then you'll be like the fool in hex 4, at least the one who not understanding

That's my immediate impression from looking at your answers. That's all I'm giving here, an impression and I do see the 53 as a joke from Yi here. I often see answers via impression rather than analysing line by line.

But can you tell me more about Hex 4 ? Is it good or bad news ? You are talking about the fool.
I'm disturbed because I really don't understand this hexagram, especially because of too much changing lines. I'm not used to have so much changing lines in an hexagram. Does this means something special ?

There are many ways to take hexagram 4. it can be just that you are learning, or that the topic in question is something you have not encountered before and so you learn as you go along...or it can be the basis of your question is unfounded in some way.

4.2.3.4.6>62 might be saying 'are you up to this '? Do you really know what India will be like and can you cope with it for example.

I'm looking at the whole picture and it could look like over stretching oneself (62) due to ignorance of the actual conditions. Also are you paying for the course ? That's another area where the answer may apply.

I don't know how the answer applies because I'm not you. Although these answers also make me wonder if Yi is talking over your head, that is not directly answering. If it were not directly answering then I think it might be saying ;

4.2.3.4.6>62 ' hey have you thought this through ? Can you cope with it ?' India can be a harsh country in many ways if you are not used to it, it can be exhausting though... or maybe Yi is speaking of another aspect of the trip...I don't know. The cost ? Your health ?

The answer of 53 uc might be saying 'hey there is no rush to do these things, do everything at the proper pace, don't try to cut corners, let things develop at the rate they need to develop'


Then again it may just be a joke on the question as I said first of all. Or the answer might be directly answering your question of the difference between going in June or August. If it was I'd wait till August.

With many lines moving the relating hexagram comes to the fore in the situation more and here it is 62 where a small bird flies low to conserve it's powers. One needs to be careful in 62, to take of one's energies and resources in order to achieve a goal.


I don't know how you should take these answers since I am not you living your life. If you feel confident about coping with the trip etc then there is no need to worry about not being prepared. The 4>62 does suggest to me though that you ask yourself if you have adequate knowledge (hex 4) to cope with the journey (hex 62) if going in June

You only asked about timings of the trip so if I take the answer at face value I'd say you make your own mind up...and if you go later, then you go later as I said first of all. Later looks better to me....but I don't know how much you need to take these readings to heart.
