Hi all, can I ask if anyone can signpost me to an Iching tarot correspondence chart - it seems the one I’ve used for years on Hermenes has disappeared? I’d be so grateful for any suggestions…..

What I’m looking for is a chart that suggests which traditional tarot card aligns to which I Ching hexagram…..
Why try to create an alignment where there is none? Even if there was an alignment in someone's own view it's just that, there is no accepted or right way to align Tarot cards with I Ching. Sometimes a cast, an overall cast can remind one of a Tarot card but that doesn't mean there is an alignment. These are two entirely separate divination methods and I don't really understand the need to make them align. I should think if you wanted to go that route you couldn't do better than Bradford which has already been linked to.

There are areas where subject matter overlaps,
And I can see how someone versed in one system would want to try and understand another in terms/symbols they already understand. (Any difference when a Christian uses Latin concepts to identify the virtues they come across in Yi's teachings?)

But, one should not expect there to be any sort of perfect match between the systems.
So, it's best not to attempt the impossible... because it would be a stretch.. and could distort meanings to make them fit.

Yes, even though I linked to Bradford's book I also agree with what Trojina and Moss Elk say. Both systems try to cover the same realm of human experience, so there will be similarities as has been said, and that's all fine and well, but for one thing there are 64 hexagrams and 78 tarot cards (I think it's 78 - ?), so already it's not a simple correspondence.

Carolyn appears to have hopped over to a 2011 ED thread so her request for this information is in two ED threads now

And as this topic does come under 'Exploring Divination' anyway this may as well go over there too (moved from Open Space)
