Hi Micheline,

There?s a standing Sat. morning gig at a new recording studio that?s just starting up, where I?m a session player. Nothing dramatically huge, but some really talented folks who are getting behind the project. It?s a lot of fun, and after Sept. when we open for business, hopefully profitable, as well. And we could always use a harp player! Maybe we?ll even fly Hilary and Lindsay in for some engaging cello work! And LiSe (coyote) has taken up American Indian flute, too! Let?s see.. there?s Dobro.. who knows who else out there can jam? ...shoot, we can put together a touring Clarity Band and give a free reading with each ticket! Or maybe a free concert with each paid reading? Or maybe...

I'm sure we can find some pots for you to bang on, Kevin. This way you'll be all practiced up for when you get old, like me.

You and I together... That's for "old men" from the desert, not for young lads like you and I...

Kidding aside, I loved the picture, Bruce. I love cluds and the way the light of the sun plays with them.

Since we are sharing pictures you all know that I'm nuts about photography. Below is a link to some of them I have classified under "landscapes" (Paisajes in Spanish)

Some sunsets

All the best,

Nice one, Bruce!!

Was it raining around the mountains or is the haze?

Thanks, Luis. I was on the way for a walk with my dog, and this was there. It was a rain storm some 10 miles away, with ocassional lightening, while overhead here it was perfectly clear skies. But in the time it took to run into the house to fetch my camera, the storm and light became softer, less dynamic. So I sort of "settled" on taking this picture as is. No cropping. Gotta be quick to catch the magic moment!

LOL! Very good nevertheless, regardless of timing.

Reason why I have my cameras surgically attached to my body... lol My camera bag must weight some 50 lbs and follows me like a puppy.

Keep an eye for those stormy skies where the sun is in your back but the horizon in front of you is black and ominous. I love those occasions and, darn it!, I always seem to find them when I'm driving on the highway (and the cameras behind me...) Yup, if you think talking on the phone while driving is bad, try holding a 35mm to your eyes...

I've removed the large image for sake of space. If anyone would like it, just email me.

Luis, you use a 35mm? How do you convert it to digital?

Hi,

I use both a Canon 20D (digital SLR) and a Canon Elan 7E (regular 35mm film camera). Mostly I use the digital one. However, to answer your question there a neat way to get your film into digital files (if you don't have the special scanners for film or the flatbed for the prints): Take your film to the nearest Walmart and ask for a picture CD together with your prints. Is about $4 bucks more and worth it.

Cheers,

Luis

LOL! Ok, I was expecting some high tech answer, Luis, but I'm a serious fan of simplicity.

Hey, don't get me started. If I start talking "techie" about film scanners, exposure settings, curves and raw formats, it would sound to most mortals like Brad or LiSe sounds to me when talking about a particular Chinese pictogram...
biggrin.gif
. If you have the equipment you have a great deal of control with your digitalization. If you don't, Walmart does a pretty good job and is cheaper than a film scanner.

You really ARE into it then! I understand how that is, to be intensely into, even obsessed with, specs and nuances of gear that helps with the creative process. I'm that way with guitars and amps.

Good hearing from you again.
