Hi all,

I have got some shocking news today. My friend’s cancer is back. Again. For the third time. It has been so nasty - seems like there is nothing doctors can do for it to stay away, it keeps coming back and very fast. All the time periods given to her are a lot shorter.
I asked Why is it back? and got 32.2>62
Hillary’s line 2 interpretation is very short - Regret vanishes. Line seems positive, but how to connect it to such a nasty thing like cancer.
My impression of 32 is that it speaks of something here to stay for a while. So looks like cancer is coming back because it us here to stay m. Right? But what about line 2. Could you help me to understand?
I figured knowing the reason why it is back will help to understand how to attack it and how to take the entire situation.
Thank you all!

Love,
Vikk

32.2 may mean here that a balance must be found, that endurance is important, stay in the middle, not force, that the treatment is going to go well, step by step. A translation of Siu: "Man endures keeping his strength of character within the limits of available power"...

Hi, so sorry to hear that.

62 makes me think there is not so much that can be done at the moment, not many big things. Not flying high, stay low. Attend to the immediate and to details. So go day by day. Accept what has arrived.
This seems to be a sort of advice while you actually asked WHY she got it.
32 I agree it seems like it is a permanent thing or something that will stay for a while.
Maybe someone else will step in and add further comments. A hug.

So sorry to hear of your friends news. You asked WHY the cancer came back and 32 speaks of endurance, but measured against change. Persistence, personality and identity can all be things to focus on amid a current of change. Regrets Vanish seems to be a rather mysterious answer, but may be referring to holding onto a strength of character. Really I'm not sure that the I Ching can answer a question about the reasons behind such tragedies, natural occurrences or other phenomena. In most cases we want to know why so that we can make sense of things happening in our lives, and the I Ching can help us do this. Perhaps you should be asking a question that is more to do with what you need to understand about your friend's illness. But my heart goes out to you. Making sense of a personal plight like cancer isn't easy. You may make more sense of the answer by meditating on it. Often illumination comes once we've thought about the matter for a while.

Hi Matali, Chiltsy, Olga and thank you!
Matali and Olga mentioned day by day, step by step approach. That seems like a reasonable thing to do especially in a high stress situation. And that seems like the approach me friend has decided to take. I spoke to her today and she decided not to panic and try to be cool, collected and rational. The most important thing for her is to be able to retain her mental health through it all. And she decided that taking it day by day, methodically is going to help her. She is not worried about physical aspect of it such as pain and body ills. Human Organism is powerful and gets back on track a lot easier then mind, in her opinion. And that’s where I guess your idea of 32 comes into play, Chiltsy. “Persistence, personality and identity can all be things to focus..” By being persistent in her fight, trying to maintain herself as first of all a person, but not a cancer patient would be a good idea in her words. She mentioned that too in our convo today. So she is ready and has a plan of action. Step by step, day by day.
Just hope that this time it will be the end of 32. Three times is enough. Maybe that what line 2 was pointing out? Since Regrets vanish maybe that’s the end of Lasting. Thanks again guys.

This line 2 insists on the balance to maintain, not excess, to stay cool as your friend says, here is the right decision. Treatments will go well.
Lots of good waves to you 🥰🌹🌺

Tell her to take sugar away, it feeds cancer. With sugar I mean sugar and all refined wheat and flours. And white rice. Diet should be whole grains, vegetables (no tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, aubergines) fish if she likes it but a lot of people believe vegan is the way during cancer. Not forever, just while she has it. As simple and nourishing as possible.

The books of Richard Beliveau, a scientist specializing in anti-cancer diet are excellent

Hi again guys. And thank you kindly for all your good wishes, positive vibes and suggestions.
She definitely is watching her diet now. After second round of treatments three years ago she has gotten really careful. No more Southern inspired foods (from the US) - bbqs, grits, shrimp or corn bread, etc. She is reading all the literature on how to stay healthy. So I hope it all goes well. Thank you again for being here!

So.... an update.

My friend went trough a series of additional scans and tests and it turned out that it is not cancer. Elevated levels of “bad stuff” in her blood were pointing out to some sort of infection, but not cancer.

Whew!!!!
