Please give me a guiding principle for the coming year of my life. Hex 22.1 to 52

In hex 22 Beauty is about making the essence visible and choosing how to communicate.
"Beauty, creating success. Small yield from having a direction to go."

When you have a purpose in mind this becomes a fruitful way to engage with the world.
Line 1; "putting away the carriage and going on foot."
Not looking for shortcuts and not trying to force the pace. This is about being present, on the ground, for every step of the way. Not laying claim to any special status, this makes humility and honest commitment very clear.

Becomes hex 52 'Stillness'. Which is about coming to rest in your own right place.

This is very reassuring reading for me. Last year I wanted to move ahead to quickly with starting my practice. In order to pay for my studies, the groundwork for my practice, I moved on to a prestigious high paying job that did not make me happy and drained my energy.
Not laying claim to any special status, this makes humility and honest commitment very clear.
Yes my way will be slower and I left to high status job but right now I feel much more aligned with my purpose.

So my intention for this year is indeed not to hurry towards my goal but instead take it slow. Talk about my dreams and aspirations and share my visions with the people I meet along the way. My fellow students, people in my social media groups, colleagues, friend and family.

If I kind find stillness this year by moving slowly but enjoying the journey and connecting with people then that would be a blessing indeed. Exactly what I need

22.1 Keep things simple. Stay grounded.
52. Stay in the present. Don’t try to project too far into the future.

22.1 is one of the lines I received when asking advice for my coming year (32th). I read it as don't rush, don't feel obliged to use faster, more common means, just walk, explore & enjoy the path. 52 indicates "not seeing your people", which makes me think of finding your way slow by slow.

22.1 > 52 is such a nice line for the year. Karcher commentary “Go on by yourself. Adorn yourself with courage. Do not take the easy way out.”

I always love “adorn yourself with courage”. When I receive this line it’s usually about going my own way and taking my time. I think 52 helps it be clear that coming back to yourself, spending time alone, and taking time in stillness helps to know what you truly want to do.

When I read this yesterday we were about to go for a walk in the park. These hexagrams reminded me to take pleasure in Nature's smallest miracles. It was a lovely day. Hope your year is too!

Yes don't rush, I can lean into that since 2021 felt at times like an express train ran over me
I don' remember where I got the idea from meeting people along the way. I think I just imagined myself as a traveler, going by foot along the path, meeting people to exchange ideas with along the way. Perhaps because 22 is also about engaging with the world through expressing your inner nature.
WikiWing: Not wanting shortcuts. Not expecting to be removed from the immediate experience of the journey and whisked to your destination: on foot you travel more slowly and have a better chance to assimilate the change. Being willing to be seen, showing willing, demonstrating honest commitment.

Neither hex 22 or 52 are about results. In 22 there is small yield from having a direction to go. I think 52 as the context means I can engage with the world by stilling, and for that I need to stay grounded (22.1)

I really think it's a lovely reading, a principle I would happily apply. I also love hiking in nature. It all comes together really!
