Second time I’ve pulled 8 unchanging for same question

Hi there. I recently joined this board after following it for a while learning the IC. happy to join and contribute where I can as I gain experience
My question today is in hopes to get some clarity about receiving the same hexagram twice, a question asked back in October, and then asked again in today.
I asked “what’s the status of our connection?”
I’ve pulled 8 unchanging, then and now.

We haven't spoken since the beginning of the year and am hoping we will reconcile.

To add, I asked for this update on the status after his grandmother reached out to me for Christmas. Initially, I had asked for clarity about how-to reply to her gesture:
50.4.6 > 46

Vansio, welcome. I'm a bit confused, and maybe you can help clear it up: you said you asked about the status of your connection with a person (him) and twice got 8uc, but I don't understand where the 50.4.6 > 46 reading fits into that? or if it even does?

hi D sorry for the confusion I mentioned the 50.4.6 because I felt compelled to ask about he and I again after this interaction with his grandmother, who tries to stay in contact with me in spite of the current circumstances, she's somewhat relevant to the connection being supported. I typically restrain from consulting divination with the same question, but to my surprise, got the same answer months later. Considering both IC were cast consequentially, raises question about the spirit of 50.4 in light of an unchanging 8.

Hello Vansio.

Some names for Hex. 8 are 'Belonging' and 'Seeking Union.' They both seem to very much describe what you are wanting here.

The image for this hexagram shows water above the earth, which might suggest you are seeking a practical way to understand or even 'tame' water, which can be about the unknown, about feeling exposed, and even in some cases about danger.

For me, the Oracle is suggesting that it is going to take direct communication with this person for you to learn more about your connection witt them. It may not happen through intermediaries: either the I Ching or through their grandmother, and it maybe be best to do this sooner than later.

And also, perhaps if you get a clear message out of this (like no means no; or yes means yes), to take it as the answer, and not to continue to second-guess what's happening or what's been said.

After all, here you are told to 'approach directly' if you want peace. And that the 'first consultation' is 'not a mistake.' And 'the late are the unfortunate ones.'

Thanks for the tip and the attention. Don't think I will readying myself any longer for communication nor hopeful for reconciliation. I sent the engagement ring back through the post for my own peace of heart and mind. In light of this decision, pulled today whether there's anything left to us. And received 59 unchanging, which seems fitting. Dispersion, letting go. Felt like the right thing to do.
