Using Domino tiles

I've been asked (via email) if there is any way of using domino tiles to cast I Ching hexagrams.
After having answered the one who sent me the email, I thought I could share the answer with you (in case anyone is interested).
There are two simple methods, similar in mechanics, one with three coins probabilities, and one with yarrow stalks probabilities.

Three coins probabilities.
Use the following four tiles:



To cast a line,

• Pick a tile and choose a side (without looking, of course )
• Add 5

You'll get 6,7,8, and 9 with three coins probabilities.


Yarrow stalks.
Use the following eight tiles:

To cast a line with yarrow stalks probabilities,

• Pick a tile and choose a side (without looking, of course )
• If it's blank, is a broken changing line
• If it's five, is a solid changing line
• If it's even, is a broken, non-changing line
• If it's odd, is a solid non-changing line
