I read line 3 as a caution against the intoxication of the crush, and line 5 as the cost of desire unchecked? Which just goes to show that our feelings will woo us (31) into suffering in the name of love.

Your interpretation makes sense to me because I also asked: "how to approach him" and got 13 (Union). Maybe it will start as a friendship and then develop to something more!?

I think 'Union" as an interpretation for 13 is not quite appropriate. It implies a closeness this hexagram doesn't really intend. I prefer Hilary's translation, "13.People in Harmony", because it describes people getting along well together, strangers coming to know and trust each other for mutual benefit, but no strings attached. Think of classmates getting along well but eventually they will graduate and move on. So it's a nice description for being like a friendly co-worker, or for treating him as you would someone who is the member of the same church, but this hexagram doesn't say something more will grow.
But of course maybe it will! I'm just being a stickler for an exact interpretation of the hexagrams. Certainly acting like a friendly acquaintance is a great place to start!
