I have a crush on a certain guy for quite a while now and I was wondering if it's worth it to pursue a relationship with him. I tried to avoid "crystal ball" questions and I just asked: "What does the Yi Jing have to say about a potential relationship between me and him?" to know if there's a potential of us being together in a committed relatinship. I must confess that I barely know him, but the answer has encouraged me to make a move.
I got 48.5>46.
It really seems there's potential between us, even though I'm new to the Yi-Jing and I'm not sure if my interpretation is correct.

Line 48.5 describes a well with fresh clear water. It's not the well which makes a move. The well just sits there, its attraction is its freshness. So no, don't make a move, just make sure you look fresh and available and inviting.

I think 48.5 answers your question by indicating there is plenty of potential, but I also think changing to 46. actually encourages you to make a move. But that's just my opinion. Diamanda may be right, it may be the answer is advising you to remain 48.Well like. Let us know!

I had this line when I enquired about an agency (I am an actor and was looking for representation those days). It sounded wonderful as there were no impediments or problems. And there were none indeed. But there wasn't a single call either. Not even one audition to participate. So fresh water, but I didn't get any chance to drink it.

Rosada, on the issue of 46 in this particular cast: 46 is a plant, or wood, which goes through earth. It usually means a plant slowly growing its way through earth. Here in the well imagery, perhaps it shows the wooden basket which has been sent into the well, then drawn up full of water (wood going through earth). So someone needs to provide the wood, the basket, it's not the well itself which does that. I agree that the potential sounds good!

Olga you make a good point here. I thought of that too - it might mean that the agency already had plenty of access to actors, already had plenty of resources. So it did cross my mind that the guy in question here already has quite a lot of resources and doesn't need new ones.
