Where is best for me to retreat to so that I can still earn a decent living to fund my life goals? 13.5 to 30

13.5 - The individual line itself speaks of people coming together, weeping and crying and a great leader bringing them together or sorting them out.

I’m currently in a very stressful job where I am a worker, not a leader … though I believe I am capable of leading others and at this point of my life would now prefer to, as working where I have over the past few years, the different jobs, locations have been full of people that prefer to gossip, backstab, bully or lie and I can’t stand these environments nor the managements inability to create positive nor peace building changes in the workplace.

I have experienced working with the right team and leaders, many, many years ago - one of the only workplaces that comes to mind as being a good environment to work in.

I’m terms of this casting - it’s secondary to one I cast before about whether to stay in my current role and hexagram 33 was that answer - retreat from society.

So I am wondering if 33 along with 13.5 May suggest that I should look to work with people in rural / outback Australia where I have seen community work leadership positions advertised.

To be honest - I would have preferred my castings suggest I go to sunny QLD where my family are - but none suggested that when I inquired moving there … in fact the energy of the readings were frankly quite negative.

Your question "Where is best for me to retreat to "is about a location. It is possible to use the I Ching to determine a direction when there is 1 moving line in the hexagram. This is done using the Loshu map (see image).
Trigram Fire is about passion, that which you can connect with. Trigram Heaven is about money, timing and having an overview of land, like a bird in the sky has an overview of the whole area.
So H13 is the perfect representation of "so I can still earn a decent income (Heaven) to fund my life goals (Fire)".
Heaven changes to Fire. In the Loshu map, this means the movement takes place from the northwest(Heaven) to the south (Fire).


Is this the direction you would like to go?
The text of 13.5 says:"People in fellowship at first cry out and weep, But afterward they laugh. After great struggle they manage to find each other."
This could indicate that moving may initially go with some struggles, but the final outcome is good.

This would be my interpretation, hopefully it will help you. As always, take what resonates and leave the rest

The information you have provided has been very helpful… I actually feel I may have misinterpreted my first casting of leaving my current role and location completely in favour of attempting to establish better communication with the people I currently work with.

Northwest to South from the diagram for me came across as Fire over Lake or 38 Opposition …even if meant to be read differently according to scholars etc - this is how I interpreted it intuitively.

It ties in with my current reading of 13.5 Crying, weeping but then rejoicing.

I work with High Risk Youth - and they are probably used to being abused or abandoned by people - without adding myself to the mix by giving up. So if I stay, things might change for the better, but it will take time and serious effort. I may even go to work early, since I’m already awake.
