Hello,

I have to leave for a 3 weeks trip abroad and I am worried about who should take care of my cat. Just note it's a "free" cat that use to go outside of our home and sleep all day long on our bed. We live in a small village, she is sweet but free.

I have 2 options.

1/ The first option is my friend M. that will take care of my cat along with her own cat in a flat.
My friend is trustful, she loves cats, but we are conscious that it's possible that our cats together won't get along... That's also means my cat will not be able to go outside of her apartment freely (my friend lives in a big and busy city)

2/ My brother in law. He has a large house, a garden and work at home, so my cat won't be alone during the day and would be able to go outside in the garden at some point. My in law agree to take care of my cat but he is a little bit "picky" with his home interior furniture and I am not sure he really loves animals ( I think he is afraid about our cat to scratch off any textile, sofa etc..).
It's possible that for a while other members of the family who are more "pet lover" stay at his home.

So my question is about where my cat would stay best and be safe during my trip.

1/ Reading : " What if my cat is staying at my friend's home? 16.4 >2
Line 16.4 sounds good, but what about the hex 2?
I can't really understand it here...Does it mean my cat will have to adapt to his new environment and to the other Cat presence/authority ( she will be on the other cat territory...)?

2/ Reading " What if my cat is staying at my in law's home? 54.4 > 19

This one - 54 - makes me feel insecure. I don't really understand the line 54.4. Can someone help me with it?
Does this reflect my doubts about my brother in-law being able to properly take care of my cat?

I really have a hard time to decide where should my cat stay for her best. Thank you for your insights, I need to take a decision soon..

I think I would go for option 1 !
54 isn't my favourite hex plus it clearly says it is not the right time for something.

Your friend sounds like the best solution for your fellow cat's sojourn.

Just curious...why don't you like the hexagram 54 ?

If i am rational, I would let my cat at my in law's home, as my cat would be happier in a large place with a garden...But I am afraid that my in law won't care about her enough and she could get lost/escape if he is not cautious the first week.

I also think I will go with the first option, even if I know that 2 cats on the same small territory are not getting along very well...

54 I remember it as a situation where you can't act much. You come second.

54.4 says
'Torshavn overruns the set time.
Delays and marries at the right time.'

To me it says that this is not the right time for marrying.
While 16.4 sounds like a nice line. I would go for 16.4
Are the cats both males? If they risked killing each other, I think Yi would have told you something like "There is another, no peace" or something like that.

54.4 has always meant for me to discard this option and wait for something better coming.

Both cats are female. And perhaps 16.4 suggests that both cats will get along...

Thank you Olga :)

Females shouldn't create problems, it's usually the guys fighting for territory or making wars.
Let us know how it went!

Your cat will get along well with the other female cat😺

And maybe you will let her in your in law's home some day, but not at this time.
