Dear One and all,

I just finished scanning the diagrams of the fourth book. It only took me three years... I have four more to go... sigh... There are 87 new pages and diagrams in that album.

As a reminder, they can be found here: Yi Books (http://www.yitoons.com/yibooks.html)

Enjoy and I hope you find some useful brain candy.

Thanks they are interesting. Would it be possible to make a zip file for each book so offline access would be possible :)

Nope, can't do... Sorry :( I just tried and zipped the four albums and came up with a file that's 170MB!! And that's zipped, compressed, crunched...

Jpegs are already compressed files, so zipping them wouldn't save any bandwidth anyway.

Time has brought us a free Wikipedia, free Linux systems and countless free computer programs. I wonder if the world is ready to produce a totally free Yijing translation.

Here and there I have found some "free" and "semi-free" Yijing texts and portions of translations floating around Internet. Please see the list below and feel free to add to the list. But I have not yet seen a complete, free and solid reference text of a caliber such as Wilhelm, Huang or Karcher 2003. Would that be possible? Desirable?

I personally think so. The Yijing is far more than just a simple copyrightable book, it is a world heritage. As such, it should be made available free of charge to every person, to download, read and meditate on its passages.

Perhaps there are some talented authors on this forum who might wish to take up the challenge of a totally free translation in 2007?

All the best, Eric

I'm afraid that even the ones that you list aren't precisely free, in that they all
require some investment of time and energy to actually look at them, or even
to study them. I know of no direct cortical downloads that would avoid paying
these particular dues.

Actually, I was thinking of a fairly major cortical upload for those who thus feel equipped...
