Hi Shelley

Thanks... So much for me to learn too!!!

For me it is not about brains and head stuff? it is about learning to be, learning to see and feel? and so much more...

Wanderer?s post, above is so much what it is really about? There is a few months of subtleties there for me to work with... and some more...

Confucius is reported as saying something along the lines of, ?Until you are 50 you cannot hope to plumb it.? (Gosh, is that a mess of the quote or what?)

I can?t wait!

Warmly

Hi Kevin

I find it so hard to move away from all that 'brains and head stuff'! I know I have other tools in the box - if I can just stop myself from picking up the same old one, perhaps I can gain confidence in using the others.

Practice, practice...

Love,

Shelley

In connection with brains and head stuff - rails I have chugged along for years... I think the oracle has cunning ploys for getting me out of that, while kidding the intellect into imagining it still pilots the ship (having actually transported it into a holodeck). (Dharma will know what I mean!)

Just been looking at old reading journals, and again came on Yi's answer to 'What are my brains for?' (At a time when I'd done exams annually from age 8, done 'A' levels, done degree, done M Phil - and stopped, and done, um, housework...)

Answer?

Not Knowing, Contemplating.

Playing with it - You have given birth to a Koan...

"Contemplating not knowing"

I like that a lot...

Chuckling with delight.

Just read your post, and liked all of it. The 'horses' analogy was amazing. It made me think about Native American culture. This is a quote from my Native American medicine cards.

" Horse is physical power and unearthly power. In shamanic practices throughout the world, Horse enables shamans to fly through the air and reach heaven"
"Through their special relationship with horse, humans altered their self-concept beyond measure. Horse was the first animal medicine of civilization"

"True power is wisdom found in remembering your total journey. Wisdom comes from remembering pathways you have walked in another persons mocassins. Compassion, caring, teaching, loving and sharing your gifts, talents and abilities are the gateways to power"

Great stuff!

Hilary's Koan went straight to my spirit. Yes!

David, thanks for sharing the medicine card. Incredible how it all ties together. It could easily be an interpretation of hex 2.

Shelley...

I don't mind either. Enjoying it really. Still learning...that's the best part!

Hilary...

I love the answer the Yi gave you. I think probably most everyone on this forum can relate to being a straight-A student...the example...the model...maybe even Valedictorian damage...but I think it takes learning to sweep floors to understand just what the brain is for.

Thanks for sharing that. Wonderfulness...*grin*

Love,

Val
