Does this mean that he thinks it will a rocky ride if he did? the bottom half of Peace (11) is pretty swampy with twists and turns. SO would this be saying, "he thinks it will be tough (11), but he remains open (2)?

Just so I get a better understanding of iching, I've broken down what you've said (only let me know if I'm wrong):

11.1.2.3-It suggests yes he does (want to reunite) but to remember nothing is easy. "Yes" because overall (11) is positive hexagram and it won't be easy because the lower trigram of Peace is a bit turbulent.

2-leave it to him to make the first move.Be receptive (2) to him. Do not try to lead.

it's now 2011...what this hexagram meant was I did indeed have to follow his lead (or lack of) and that it was not going to be easy. in my case there was a lot of obstacles....
